Well i got it working and its quite impressive.Hey wish i could help you out with youre aircon prob.
The J3 looks quite similar to the JVC PC-150/-200.Would you describe the J3 on balance as bass shy like my pc-150 and pc-200 JVCs?I'll bet it has better sound than the very similar looking JVCs.

Funny you should say that about the bass because to me it only just cuts the mustard in that department.However its seems it was designed that way because it all goes hand in hand the more you increase the volume. It almost seems to sound better in a large area [like in the picture]than in a smaller area.The design seems more orientated around good sound quality up louder than being aloud to destroy the speakers with to much bass control. Highs are very nice though!!!
