Very nice ads. I remember that WDS Stereo ad, it seemed to be in the Stereo Review magazines if I am correct. I also did plenty of researching for the best price when I wanted a Aiwa cs880 and I bought mine thru Stereo Corporation of America which was in New York. Had there brochure that I got from Stereo Review postcards that I used to circle the numbers of the brochures that I wanted and send it away. I also HAD very many of these ads, but right before I started collecting I threw them away when I was cleaning. What a dumb mistake and wish I had them back. Thanks for the scans!!!!!!!

I used to get all the audio magazines way back, I didn't keep any of them. I do have car audio and car stereo review from about 1982 in my dad's basement, my wife was limited to what she could put in the back of our titan when she was up there so what ever else is up in NY will wait until I go up there one day. Last time I was up there (2003?) I condensed about 10 binders of catalogs down to one that I brought home, most of the stuff was car and truck catalogs from when I worked in a 4x4 shop in NY. I just found another boombox picture on the album cover of a Beastie Boys album(soundtrack from the video she's on it), I'll scan it later.

Wow! Fantastic stuff. Some of it brings back memories from yesteryear, some is cool because of more recent discoveries of the gear they depict, and some is just cool to see! Thanks a lot for sharing those!

not a boombox ad but a cassette ad featuring a boombox, name on boombox looks altered, is this actually a JVC re-badged for the ad?
