This item was auctioned a few days ago and closed to a bidder for $1885 from Australia, however that person changed their mind and decided to back out after the shipping costs to Australia were found to be too costly. Therefore I am re-listing the item for bidders only in he U.S.
whoops......I guess reading is fundamental.....LOL

My guess is this time won't bring $1800+.
I honestly would've thought that if you're willing to pay nearly $2000 for a radio that the shipping (even if it was $300+) wouldn't be any sort of issue to cause you to back out.
People not emailing international sellers for shipping quotes before they bid upset things for everyone.
Ah well, gives that delectable M90 a chance to find a new home to be loved in.
You have to ask yourself this. If you were the seller getting $1800+ for this, and someone gripes about the shipping but otherwise will complete the deal, wouldnt you think you might bend a bit to help them on the shipping since the item went so high to begin with. Perhaps the seller is being greedy at this point believeing it will go to $1800 again. Whats the most the shipping could have been? $250-$300 Max? So maybe the buyer miscalculated but he had to have figured at least $100. So theres $200 difference. Seller should have made up the difference IMO. I would have under these circumstances.
Go get it..................

Yep, lot's of questions and head scratching here. I think any sane person would have done everything possible to complete an $1800+ boombox sale.
You did'nt watch Schoolhouse rock when you were a kid? Did you Kitt?

actually I did.....I thought conjunction junction was cool because of the trains.....which I loved at the time.
Yepper ..... To get big money on M90s, they really need to be international Auctions, particularly with a crazy Aussie in the bidding
Although when I bought mine, I did get a nasty surprise, that shipping was $100 more than quoted .... $300 in total.
I would have taken the hit on the shipping if I was the seller
Funny you should bring up "Schoolhouse Rock". I just bought the DVD set!! LOL
You know the seller sould at least put free shipping with the buy it now at least right
. But no free shipping
should i get a Discount for being a possible repeat customer ?
SANYO M-W15F Since I thinks that I have bought from them before as seen above ( Fatdog )
Hey James, I'm not "sheriworld" on eBay. The quote above was lifted from the M90 auction; it's not me saying it.
I like how the seller "saw the light" and increased the minimum bid by $900.
It's a high price for everyone ... even for collectors or JVC fans.
Fact:
I bougth a Sony CF580. I paid about 50 dollars.
The box was sold as non-working item. Altough the seller was in the mid seventies, it was helped by a young girl, that had done a little research around the web, and found out that the CF580 was a truly vintage item. They decided to put a price, that was rigth for me(collector point of view).
That's the reason because prices are rising. People selling vintage BBX's without any idea of the real value of the item are less and less, sadly ... more people became a Boombox reasearcher (not like Jens) just before selling their radios to take more money.
We need to speak slowly ... non collectors are listening !!!! AAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJA
Clipped from the auction:
****Added 06/17/08: I tried for over a week to work things with the Australian but with our current fuel prices and USPS changing their maximum dimensions, I was stuck with FedEx, DHL & UPS. All of which were between $750-$1100 to ship
No wonder the seller didn't cover the shipping!

I'll add that while this may be true.....and in most cases it is with huge dollar values......USPS is the ONLY way to send something out of the US at a "decent cost". Typically it would have been around $200 which is a fraction of the above prices....and yes they do insure it!
That excuse was really no excuse. But I guess if you don't do research, one would never know.
