Very inspiring! You have me thinking now....
thank you! it's far from finished i had to put a bigger transformer in it but now she pounds so hard i think the woofers wanna jump out of it and the horn tweeters really blast out the highs but they are smooth plus it's so light and packs a knock out punch .
Looks like we have another m90 distructo box nicley done floyd, i cant wait to get some better woofers for my 777 i think it will pump hard.
that, Floyd, is nuts.
i like it
One question.... Do you limit your creations to be able to work on batteries? (Even if it is a car battery stuffed in the back)
they all run on ac and batteries .batts dont last long when youre packin 200 watts of power.
Is that a prosonic/goldstar/unitech I see strapped on the back of that deal?
its a pqr 9962 rear case exactly the same sise as the trc 931 only deeper which was what i needed ,now the bass in very deep and loud way beyond normal boomboxes.

WOW that is crazy.
With the pioneer display it looks like a I-931 on steroids.
lets have the specs. what did you use?? Woofers ,
amplification , Yada yada yo!
lasonic woofers altho they might fly apart any day now .the head unit is a pioneer deh-p 7200 its basically one of the top units they ever made its old skool by todays standards but that kind of quality never goes out of style .it has a mosfet amp that delivers 45x4 watts rms.
the unit also has high and low pass crossover with subwoofer output.its hard to get a decent pic of the organic el display which poineer invented.also 2 2x6 horn tweeters not very high tech but the do more than a sufficient job.the box is so light i can add a bunch more crap to it and still be reasonably portable.
well done Floyd, its a work of art.
thanks man ,ive really taken to this box cus it just gives so much pleasure and performance ,i guess all my junk collecting is finally paying off.i already solved the problem of joining the two halves together i just glued strips of wood to the insides of the front case then just screwed the rear case to the strips of wood thru the normal case screw holes very simple but it took me a while to figure it out.she ought to really shine when i fill up the 99 holes in it .
Freakin' NUTS! Your handle is no longer JVC FLOYD! Scratch that....Your new name is Dr. Boomerstein or Frankenboomer!!
Now update your profile!
people just call me dr crankenstien ,i usually fill prescriptions for chronic bass addiction.oh when i'm thru with this thing it will make a disco lite look boring .hell i put 3 12 inch subs in my jeep cherokee today and i thought it was weak lol.man wtf can you do.more power i guess.this terrorizing trc has woofer excusion like you have never seen in a boombox before this thing just is alive with power.
my next custom i call revenge of the gf 777 so you can figure the rest out.damn i need to get on my scrapper conion too ,it never ends fred sanford would be proud .
Great creation man
Bonkers.
Very VERY good job! looks fantastic!
thank you ! theres more to come .

That's insane, how could we not dig it. Great use of old boombox parts and a fitting tribute to those old classic boomers. That is what the i931 should have been, your insane Floyd! I like your form of insanity though.
thank you! my intent is always to keep that old skool look as much as possible ,if you saw the vu meters i have you wouldnt belive your eyes.but thats for another day.
