this years car boot sales have been prity poor so far, but i did pick up these today, jvc pc 200, sharg gf 500, sanyo m9927, not the best bbox's but i only paid £8 for all of them, they need a good clean, the sharp needs new belts on tape deck 1, apart from that all good working order, prob will clean them up and service them and stick them on ebay
Good stuff Geoff, Boot Sale finds for myself lately have been extremely poor
I think someone must be getting to the sales well early before me and buying them up..
Interested to know how many watts is the GF 500? 40w?

just looked 35w, its a good sound for a smallish bbox
I've got a GF 9500 and love it as well as a GF 700 on the way. I really appreciate these Sharp 3 pieces

Nice work! Are you going to get the speakers done later?
It turned out nicely, Geoff! It's nice to see others delving into the art of bleaching speakers.

speakers are bleached, they look bad cause they are still wet, will see what there like when dry, they might need another go, they have had 2 hits with bleach so far
Looks nice and crisp!
I decided to go against bleaching (didn't trust myself) my Gf 9500 and went with acylic paint I had from my artistic days. Two nice light white coats and they came up a real treat
Nice finds Geoff, the Sanyo looks nice.
i like that sanyo as well.
Nice scores
and I love breaking things down like that and
really cleaning them
it makes them look new again... nice work
boot sales ? not familiar with this term ? = to yard sales, flea market ? Anyway I love finding stuff in the wild, you can't beat the feeling you get when you walk up on something desirable for the first time
I tried Fatdog's bleaching method and it worked great (I haven't hear the end result yet but that's my fault LOL) I did however find it much easier to do with a Q-tip (ear swab) by rolling it on it's side as apposed to blotting it with a cloth or sponge. Anyway it worked out great after two applications of the bleach and allowing it to fully dry (Thanks Again Fatdog)

That's what I've always done! Acrylic paints don't make the paper brittle (the minerals in bleach do) and is waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy brighter than bleaching ever is! Nice work!

Nice work geoff.
I've had the GF-500 and it's not a bad box, feels and looks great.
To bad about the sales however I agree with everybody that you have to get there as early as possible, this is especially true as the supply dries up.
