Awesome, not much room to do better than that.
Your Goodwill looks a lot cleaner than the few around me, usually the shelves are pretty trashed.
SUPER YAY!!
WTF!!!
Congrats Frank!
Wow. I mean - wow
Congrats!!
GREAT GREAT fantasy photo of how you first saw it on the shelf --thats what we all dream about --

Calm down and check the price tag first, Of course.
Very happy for you! From the looks of the store's shelving,it appears to be a smaller Goodwill outlet. My local Goodwill is a distribution center which gets in large semi trucks as well as taking personal donation on site.Despite this I have never found anything quite as nice as a 777.Over the past several years,I have found a number of nice '80s minis, some very new condition larger '90s Panas and JVCs,and even a Magnavox D8443.Also I've snagged a nice powerful Fisher shelf system and some other older audio equipment.Perhaps I've just not been there at the right time to find a bigger classic boombox like your new Sharp! If it's what I think,I would have grabbed that Aiwa egg on top of the box with the green marking as well.It is nice and loud though not bassy.Mine served me well at work for maybe five or six years until a coworker pushed it off a shelf
.
For those of you in foreign countries or near smaller Goodwill stores, here is a picture of the local outlet about 2 miles from my house.Though many of the smaller store go into any space they can find available, the bigger ones are a unique design. From the outside, they look somewhat similar to the recent Volkswagen dealership buildings here in the U.S..With their tall glass fronts, these buildings remind me of some the earlier 20th century modern architecture I really like.
This was a great find,i guess this will be youre 8th 777z
What a score Frank! That would be a dream visit to Goodwill for anyone here. But, everytime I go in, there are a bunch of old VCRs and useless speakers and crappy old clock radios, I woulda pinched myself seeing that beaut just sitting there... Congrats!
I will post you guys some interesting pictures of local salvation army distribution center.
Tones of used TV (which i am working on).

Nice looking Goodwill store, I don't have any that nice in my area.

WOW great score
You gotta see the crap that lines the walls of the goodwill around here.
mostly old computer junk ,vcrs , sewing machines etc. etc.

Same here, I can't believe they actually sell any of it for the prices they stick on that crap. $15 for an untested Wireless G router without the power supply but some idiot actually buys this stuff.

That's so great. All I ever find at my GoodWill is a bunch of eggs
Unreal. That is awesome looking. even like 150 would have been more than fair at a goodwill. 30Bux
I need to work part time at one of these places. Just to be around to snatch up those air conditioners
You have to go to Goodwill everyday or be very lucky dropping in at random to find decent stuff.Be prepared for a lot of disappointing days if your looking for classic '80s 1 piece designs specifically.I only wish I had the sense to check out these places maybe 15 years ago.If there were as many '80s boxes showing up back then as the '90s units I usually find,it would have been a euphoric experience!

Yeah!1 Nice one Frank!!
Hey did you haggle them on the price, I mean with no grills surely you could have got it for $25!??
The stuff dreams are made of!!!
Well done on such a great find.
Unbelievable SCORE ! It looks so wild sitting there on the Goodwill shelf ! I always bring my camera with me to the flea-markets and to the thrift stores but I always feel weird busting it out for a pic in front of anyone. As soon as someone knows something is worth something they start tripping out and by taking a pic I always feel like I letting on that something's up
Anyway GREAT SCORE and at a GREAT PRICE !
Amazing Frank!
That one looks really clean!

Jovie, your right on!
For me 1 out of 10 to 20 stops might produce something like a cassette, a mini, a walkman, a decent egg and on very rare ocassion an actual 80's box.
10 to 15 years ago probably would have been incredible in these stores. I couldn't imagine what I would have done possibly finding several 80's boxes a week, I suspect that's what it might have been like.
That was a straight SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dream of such a find when I do the thrifting circuit
my girlfriend had an insane goodwill score yesterday, a McIntosh 2100 amp, one of the upper-range Bang & Olufsen turntables, and some other tube amp...Acoustic Research or something. $50 for everything!!
I used to go to a Goodwill store in the Sandy, Oregon area on a near daily basis. For a year or so that place was like a virtual gold mine of vintage electronics. Not really for boomboxes but for vintage stereo stuff, electronics, radios, musical gear like processors and keyboards, etc.
But then it just stopped and all they were getting was the black plastic crap from about 1990 or so and upward. It was like a spigot had been turned off and the last of the good vintage stuff had already been filtered through the system. Very sad
