I'm interested in seeing some close up pictures of the equalizers and the frequency markings on boxes having a great number of sliders or bands of adjustments. Also, what is the most bands of E.Q. ever designed into a proper boombox?Anyone?

My Sharp WF-939z and (soon to be departed) HK-9000 have ten bands. Sharp wins this contest hansds down I think as the GF-800 and I believe another one of theirs has ten bands. Sharp produced more models with ten band EQ's than anyone I can think of.
Thanks oldskool.I'm increasingly interested in older high quality boxes having equalizers.I'm thinking about finding one.BTW-what are the marked frequencies of each slider?
Unless someone beats me to it I'll get them for ya later today.
My HQ's with EQ's are:
Panasonics RX-C100, 300, & DT680 (five bands)
Sonys FH-5 & CFS-9000 (five bands)
JVC PC-55 & PC-11(If I ever get it.) (five band)
Vector VMC-100 (seven band)
Pioneer CK-5F (five band)
Sansui CP-99W (nine band)
Sharps WF-939z & HK-9000 (ten band)
The spectrum analyzer display on that Sharp is dope,
oldskool!

Thanks
Monolithic! Have you seen the spectrum on an RX-C300? Ultra Sweet!
I believe not. When you get a chance, post a pic!
I'm still disappointed they didn't catch fire... There's alotta boxes out there that could've used that kinda treatment instead of "Plain Jane" LED meters.
10 band national rx-xe550 with spectrum analyzer 7 band + total power.. bands are
63Hz
100Hz
200Hz
330Hz
500Hz
1kHz
2kHz
3.3kHz
7kHz
14kHz
Spectrum analyzer
50Hz
100Hz
330Hz
1kHz
3.3kHz
6.3kHz
12.5kHz
But this is a component system
It's not what I'd call 'high quality' but the JC2000 has a 10 band EQ:
Every slider has a red LED in them too.... doesn't really make up for the painted on hilarity underneath, but it's better than nothing. By the way the suggested settings demonstrated in the diagram sound appalling, but hey, you don't date a supermodel for the conversation.
Rock On.

Here is a photo of the Sharp HK-9000 EQ. The frequencies on it and the WF-939z are the same.
The frequencies are: 100Hz,180Hz,310Hz,550Hz,1KHz,1.8KHz,3.1KHz,5.5KHz,10KHz, and 16KHz
And for Monolithic, here is a pic of the spectrum analyzer on the Panasonic RX-C300. What is funny is that the spectrum is split into seven bands but the EQ is only five.

but it does look great tho!
I gotta get either the Sharp or the Panasonic (if they can be found) sometime in the near future!
Thanks for posting.

The J-1 has a 10-band EQ too.
aswell as the Conion XPLODE 5000 ( in fact..10 double-sliders that make it look like 20 lol!)
love the boxes with spectrum analyzer

Fakin' the funk! I hate those kind of EQ's!
I wonder who invented that weak-ass idea - Yorx or Soundesign?
Very informative.Thank you all for your efforts
