04=2004

...apparently not all of them.
Let me introduce my brand new ('08!) Aiwa CS-W535.
Yep, snagged one!
Sure, it's a low-end egg. But it's radio-and-cassette only (no CD!) and it's the end of an era. How could I resist?!?
cant find the recent thread --
-but has the aiwa brand been abolished ??
You know, when you accept it for what it is, it's a nice score. But as the last cassette only Aiwa tagged (I say this because we all know how manufacturing works...) cassette and radio only...
Great Score!

That's what I understand from Wikipedia, a comment on
this CarReview website ("Too bad all AIWA products have been discontinued."), and running into "discontinued" on so many (like
this) Aiwa products I've looked up lately. I'll bet Jens knows "the rest of the story"!
thanks BB --
over the years - i have respected every aiwa product i ever bought :tape decks, all metal superb walkmans ,great little speakers -- and their boomboxes are 'all good'
---even the aiwa boxes i sell --are all 'doubles' of the keepers --
so - for the happy ending ::
lets assume that some other company will buy that good name brand --and make some worthy product again.

Damn that is one extremely cool Aiwa!
Ya, the Aiwa brand is no more. I guess Sony couldn't make it work - since they were in trouble themselves - they couldn't invest much in Aiwa. But now that Sony is "back in black" - so to speak - meaning - they are making good money again - maybe they will re-launch Aiwa - that would be a pitty to lose such a well established brand
Not a nice Bbox...... Leaning more towards an egg.
great that you got that baby boomer-let`s hear us a propper review!
Several Aiwa eggs are still available
in Russia .(64 different ones)
