OK so after last weekend my son has been going Boombox crazy LOL We worked on his little box from last weekend but it was in rough shape. He seemed a little disappointed when the deck wasn't working and the tuner seemed hard to get in that sweet spot
He said "Dad don't worry you tried and I still love it... We'll just keep it in my room for looks" He's only 9 years old this year and so understanding already
That said I couldn't let him settle for that crappy box, so this weekend I ran around and hit a few fleamarkets to see what I could find him.
I didn't find anything huge but I found a couple that were NICE. Yesterday when he got home from his Mom-Mom's I had three boxes for him to pick from and just like his dad he had to have more then one LOL We decided that he could keep two from now.
Here they are, see if you can guess which ones he picked ?
Sony CFS-43
Sears Robuck SR 2100 series
Panasonic RX 4850

Thats a great story endo..way to go!
Is there a possibility that we will have the youngest S2G-member soon?
I can understand that he wanted to take them all
Me as a 9-yrs old..hm, i probably would stick with the Sony for the look and the pana.
The Sears is nice too but the other two simply got that classic style
You're letting him keep only two?!?! Such a cruel and heartless father!
I would guess the Pansonic and the Sony if you've taught him anything
But the Sears box isn't bad either.
i agree. the sony and panasonic for sure.

Ok I'm going to be the odd man out and say your son chose the Sears SR-2100.
Congrats, they are all cool boxes and great for a 9 year old. I would personally choose the Panasonic but they are all cool.
Well thanks for all the cool replies guys
My son will be home and finished his homework in about an hour so I'll let him tell you what he chose and why
I thought two boxes would be enough ? I guess not LOL I'm sure he will end up with three eventually.
I don't know I guess space is an issue ? We're about to start a huge home addition that will double our square footage (taking our home from tiny to small LOL) after that he'll have a play room to keep his toys in and he can have his BBX's in his bedroom on a shelf. That way his buddies who don't really understand what this stuff means to him won't end up doing something stupid and break one of his boxes. He's been around collectables his whole life so he understands that stuff can't be replaced up the street and he respects his stuff so I wouldn't mind if he kept them all but I'll have to run it past the wifey
about him becoming a member, can we even do that ? Wouldn't that mean we would have two member accounts from one IP addy ?

OK after his home work we did a little sound comparison and he still wanted the same two boxes.
Hi this is Johnathan Brian's son, I choose the Panasonic because it was loud and in great condition plus it's light.
I also chose the Sears one because it has a UV meter two tapes and it's wide LOL.
Hope you like my boomboxes the way I do !
Lucky for him I talked his mom into letting him keep all three LOL
Also when asked which one was his favorite and sounded the best he said "Dad if I could only keep one I'd choose this one"
Thanks guys he was so excited about this
If he could only chose one...
Young grasshopper is wise!
very cool
Nice family hobby
Thanks guys
He was super excited to read what you all wrote when he got in from school and finished with his homework
Very nice. It's good to see you son interested in your hobby.
The Panasonic is a nice little box, with it's 3-band Graphic Equalizer.
The Sears Robuck box having seperate bass and treble controls is great. Rather posh for a little'un!
