Been rumaging at a few thrift stores and dumpsters as Ira noted during my "Spring Break" and came up with a few tidbits.
JVC PC-V77 - Thrift store find. The main reason I bought it was cause it was my first purchase when I got to AIT in the military while at Ft. Eustis, Virginia. And it ain't the loudest but in my mind was one of JVC's last hurrahs in the traditional boombox layout. Works like a charm!
Realistic SCR-8 - Saw one in high school, repaired one for a pawn shop and made some change. Thought it sounded great then, and Danny sold me one and it sounds great now. Minty and completely functional!
Sony Walkman - Thrift store bargain. Didn't bother to look for the model number but it has AM/FM with presets auto reverse and dolby(?) Either way it's loaded for a Walkman. Maybe Walkgirl will respond as I have now gone over to the "Dark Side"!!!
Sears Proformance Compo - Thrift store find. It's not a box but will be. I've looked at the chassis and it's beefy enough to mount speakers and a handle and run on 10D cells with plenty of room in the cassette deck case to make a battery compartment. Very powerful unit. I will post pics of the amp chip and heat sink a bit later as I have some technical questions. Minty like new!
That walkman looks cool!! I think I need to take a trip to Alabama as Tennessee is completely dried up.

Definitely cool oldskool and this is why scouring the shops and flea markets can be so addicting.
I really like that walkman. I've been hoping to find a model like that but all I find are cheap no name models or beat up brand names.
Great scores, the Realistic looks nice.
