It is the French Ebay RC M70 that Jens had found and told us about here on ST2G that I missed!
This is it:
http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=...=STRK:MEDW:IT&ih=020Yeah, you saw the winning bid right!
My computer had froze a few seconds to the end..... seconds, as all good bidders, putting a HIGH price and the damned computer froze!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh that's gotta hurt, somebody got a deal.
I'm really sorry to hear this, and I feel your pain. It's happened to me more than once. Less than a month ago I was using a dial-up connection to do a snipe on a camera, and, the second I hit "confirm bid," I was disconnected. I still don't know why. But for over a week, all I could think was, "If only I could turn back time..."
I couldn't.
happens to me to -- computers fail at some real bad times --just be glad that MOST times - you can depend on your computer to be there when you need it during the past few seconds of an auction -
but THAT loss - can only be recovered when you find the next 0ne
Hey Bredgeo - I feel your pain!
I once was bidding on broken Aiwa CS220 that I badly needed to use the parts to fix the one I have. The auction was pretty slow and was ending early in the morning. So I decided to put a snipe on it using software I had on my computer and making sure it is set high enough to get the box no matter what. I set everything up the night before and happilly went ot bed thinking of how I will finally be able to fix my Aiwa.
Next morning I wake up, go to the computer and I can't believe what I see
- a Windows welcome screen!!! I am logging in, speachless, and see a happy message - "Your computer just had been updated!". I am logging in to ebay and see that the auction is over and "my" Aiwa was sold for $9.99 to someone else (My max was $85(!)).
I was devasted...
Turns out, that I apperently did not disable the automatic updates on this particular laptop and computer got rebooted at night before my sniping softwarte could execute my bid...
It was so painful
- I will never forget it... and I still did not come across another one...

Not nice to laugh, but...... HEE, HEE, HEE!!!!
I, myself, actually get up at the time an auction will end to do the manual, last flash, top dollar bidding (even doing that... the computer can freeze on you, like this M70)! I do not trust these computers!!!!!!

The rest of my story:
When I checked back on my camera listing, I saw that it didn't sell. I was thrilled! So I immediately contacted the seller and asked (begged) to buy it.
Three days later the seller wrote back and told me that, when it didn't sell, she gave the camera away to a friend. It was like a knife in my heart!
Talk about adding insult to injury! Aarrrggghh!
Vitalxs, bredgeo... I honestly, really, completely (and physically!) feel your pain.
May the god of eBay look with mercy on each of you and send you another auction one day with the same item. And this time may you win it. Amen.
OOOOOHHHHFFFFFF,man that really sucks!! I'm sorry to hear of your loss.
It's time for the Louisville slugger!

Bredgeo maybe the boombox gods are responsible and this was supposed to happen so you would have the funds for an M90 coming your way.

To DecentMan4You: Auch! I mean - Wow! That's awesome! Wish I had one of those...
It is interesting - I haven't seen in a while them being called "magnetophone" - is that a European version?
Doesn't look like a Euro unit. Looks like one made for sale in North America... Canada and US. Canada requires both French and English on packaging.
sorry about the loss
