I dont know if this has been done yet.
A fun thread where you can post a pic of you with your favorite boombox "back when you had it new"
and a pic of you with the same box now with a similar pose.
Ill get it started.
THEN
NOW

Those are great before and after pics.
I wish I could do the same but I don't even think I have a before pic with any of my boomboxes.
Frank...that is effin' awesome !! I wish I had some old pics like that...most of mine are of a group of buddies crammed in my bedroom while I cut it up on the 100 dozens !!
That's great, Frank!
I wish I had pictures like that myself...
That would be too cool.
But as a military brat I could not tell you where anyone from my past is.
Great picture from the past and present. Those guys really look like a couple of punks though!!!!
great pic, you were a lucky kid to own a rising
That's a fantastic idea. The only one I have is the one I posted last year with my 80's big hair and acid washed jeans holding my Lasonic 931
I'm sure someone's saved it to catch a laugh now & then
Yeah, it has been done already.... But let us do it again!!!!!! With the new members an d Shiit, might be fun!
I cannot post any of my old pics 'cos they are in France... with my collection!!

THAFUZZ...
Great avatar!!!!! Really nice! Would not want to be pulled over by you and get banged on the head with that Bbox!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool pics! - dont have any like this I'm afraid...
This is so cool
I showed my wife last night and she was blown away
A lot of guys do this sort of thing in the BMX hobby but it's usually just a bike (no people) and she thought it was really cool to see two old friends that still hang, get together to reenact a special moment in their lives
Way Cool Nice Work
& here I come, a week late, as usual.
Twenty years between these two photos.
Makes you think. ...not sure what of, but it makes you think.
Probably.
THEN:
I had hoped to provide a more exciting "Then" photo - but back then, cameras just weren't something that you carried around everywhere unless you were really into photography.
Anyway, I can date this photo almost to the day. It must've been taken in early November 1987 after the Public Enemy/LL Cool J/Eric B/Beastie Boys gig at Hammersmith on Nov 1st, as I got the Public Enemy sticker at that gig & cut it up to stick to the sides if the 3D7 when it was just a few short months old...
NOW:
After years of heavy use & further years of neglect, it's all restored & back to working order - pretty much. I never did get the AC in to work again (because the DC in is just fine) & try as I might, the deck couldn't pull a rotten tooth out of a dead horse's head. It's had a complete strip-down, clean-up, new belts, etc. so it's weakness probably means it needs a new motor. Never mind - on the rare occasions that I want to actually play a cassette, I have a choice of b-boxes that do a much better job, even if it was A1.
really a great example for "before and after"!
isolator -- 'made me think' --
of thanking you -- bought this model on your say-so -- great box
This is awesome TAguy! Excellent pics! I wish more of us could post up pics like yours. I still have my original boombox - but no vintage pics
from back then when I first bought mine (when photos were black and white and usually showed a horse standing around in the background).
Cool you have an old pic like that. Who would have thought you'd be getting a few of the times boxes. Later in life.
very cool
