Nice score, kind of like a super sized mini. I don't recall seeing one of those before but I like it.
Thanks guys! I really love the minis, especially Panasonic. Hey James aka DecentMan4You, I would love to have your "wall paper" in my living room!
Although,I couldn't imagine having to move all those to dust. How many do you have? I only have about 10 boomboxes.

How Many??????

Thanks Floyd! The F20 is actually a step down from the 5180. The F20 went for $199.99 new while the 5180 went for $219.99 new. The F20 isn't quite as solid as the 5180 and as you know it is rather complex to take apart to fix. The F20 has TPS, while the 5180 does not but it has the mic mixing knob which the F20 lacks. Both are equal in sound and have auxillary inputs, etc. Both came out in 1982. How do you use the mic mixing? I never had any tape player with this before.

congrsts BBNut
Thank you Jaredscottfla!
BBN, I
love this box! It was my first mini, and it's still my favorite. It's feels heavier than other Panasonic mini's, and puts out sound that's exteremly clear and well-balanced between bass and treble. In fact, I've always thought of it, not so much as a "mini box," but as a smaller version of a full-sized boombox. Sort of a "midi."
You did good!
Lovely miniradio
With ambience !!!. Nice catch !!!

Thanks BB! I love this box too! It sounds identical to my Panasonic RX-F20 which is my other mini ca. 1982, same as the 5180. I like that yours has the box and the mini looks minty!!
Where did you ever find one new in the box?
Those minis are great! Nice score!

Thanks! Bought it new "back in the day." Used to have it sitting on my desk at work, a pretty tame environment. When I moved on, the radio came home, went back into the box, and I stashed it in a closet, where it remains. (Still have the original test tape, too!) But don't worry, because the actual unit is what counts, and you've got one!!

Baby boomer I sure wish I would have done that with one of the boxes I had back then. It must have a special place in your collection just because of the history.
Yes, I agree. If I could have afforded one back in 1982, I would have kept mine too. It is kind of nostalgic isn't it?
