Finally got around to getting this puppy up and running. AK did a good job packing it, but the German's didn't think the process through when they mounted the iron ferrite bar. It broke clean in half in transit and killed it. I was able to fix it and back in business. Tape was dragging a bit, but ripped the box apart........what a pita!!!
Had to repair the right VU meter since it was not resting properly and had to repair the battery/tuning back plate causing a sticky needle and was rubbing on the back of the needle......all fixed....all good.....phewwwwww
Cleaned the drive capstan drum and motor pulley, adjusted speed...back in business. It only needs two things but are minor, a single antenna.....AK got any spare parts?? and a 12V bulb for the battery tuning VU meter.....not a big deal.
What a sweeeeet little radio it is.....I put if off for 7 months.....I'm really glad I tackled it.....I would rank it fourth on my list since it such a sweet sound!
Here she is:

Its a great peice, I'm glad we did business on it.
thanks for the rating , kitt -
thats a real strong line-up
you could beat the red sox with just those four !
This is why I won't give up on mine! Kitt let me know what you did to yours as it sounds like we both have some common issues with ours! Maybe I can get mine going too! (Speaker cords non-withstanding.)
Very nice Kitt!
congrats man!
Nice unit ! I really like the backlighting, too bad the tuning meter doesn't light up.
Great job Kit
