I just picked one up locally.
I have not had a shot to try it out as I picked it up on my way to work. DAMMMMM this thing has some weight to it! I think it weighs in more then my pc55~ Much thicker then I thought.
Anyone have this unit? How is it?
I have had the panasonic 800 beofore with the turntable and i did not care for the sound of it. The DC7 looks and feels like it is constructed better then the 800 was.
On a sad note. I am pissed at myself for not checking the local stuff every day! There was a JVC rc550 for $20.00 I am soo pissed at myself for not checking for 2 days it was sold already by the time i called.
hi man i have that jvc ,i love it ,its sounds good and loud ,has no bass or treble controls tho ,just some buttons to adjust the sound the batteries go on the back of the speakers they have removable panels you have to un screw, those boxes are extremely hard to work on ,
Wow weird with no bass and trebble control.....
For the $ i got it for i did not plug it in or anything I gave the $ and ran lol. They said it works though.
The antenna in the handle is a different design also. I tried to do a search for one on ebay but none pulled up in current or completed.
just amazing on the weight of this thing!

Nice score Ej
My Neighbor Has one of These,That's His Pride and Joy,and I'm Jealous! I Still Do not have a turntable box.
yeah that thing has got to be the heaviest box made .i think it comes in around 35 to 37 pounds .with out batteries.that and the sharp vz 2000 are the heavy wieght turntable box champs.
Nice score Brian.I have a Jvc DC33L and I love it. My wife (the woman)
uses it all the time to play her vinyl.
Yeah I got one from a car boot last year and had to carry it back to the car.I'm sure my arm is now 2" longer than it was

I dont know what this is, that ya'll are speaking of ...

Looks like JVC spent the money on building a solid, vibration free unit to support the turntable and some features were sacrificed for it. I wonder how it sounds. Being a JVC it should be solid!
Ah, win some and lose some!
Too bad that second one got away!
This JVC is a good looking box though!
trust me this box is no toy ,it may not be a glamourous looking box ,but it is a good sounding unit worthy of the jvc name ,plus its just a monster ,gives new meaning to built like a tank.
i got it home and tired it out it all works from the tape down to the turntable.
Now it is a linner tracking turntable but, is the cartridge magnetic or ceramic on this unit?
floyd, your right it does not sound bad at all but i still think it needs bass and trebble controll! lol
so far the only thing wrong with it is one of the 3 SW buttons is broke. not a big thing. It definatley needs to be cleaned and sprayed out.
It beats the pants off of the panasonic 800 i had that is for sure.
It is also much thicker then I thought it would be. 12" or better.
yep its a beast ,carrying it down the street is almost out of the question.
congrats EJ these jvc's with thuntables our great units mate, much better than the vz range too nice pick up.
Nice score! It makes total sense that the unit should be a 3-piecer so the speakers don't interfere with the turntable such as on the VZs.
Well done!
ahhh!!! i found one of these at an antique store for $100 a looong time ago. always wondered what model it was, and its definitely this one!
