DEFINITELY German (or at least intended for sale in a German-speaking market)! Since someone has already guessed Grundig, how about Telefunken, or ITT? I've seen German-language stuff from them.
And yes, I'm obviously guessing and don't know what this is. It looks vaguely familiar, but I can't ID it. Hhhhmmmm, the more I look at it, the more familiar that cassette door looks. Would be funny if this is a box I actually have, but which has been in storage long enough I don't recognize it... but I don't think so!
