Well I would have to go with my Panasonic RX-C52, I think it's kind of borderline on the mini status but still very small.
It's one heavy and awesome sounding mini, unfortunately mine needs a little TLC.

My personal favourite is my very smart Sharp WQ-274. I don't have any pictures of it, but it's of the very slim square design like that Marantz above and the Sharp QT27 (it has chrome trims round the speakers). The WQ-274 is a duel deck, with a mini 4-band graphic equalizer in the top right-hand corner of the machine. The speakers are tiny (about 3 inch), but the bass they throw out when the equalizer is adjusted 'correctly' is staggering for how the radio looks. It has a lovely full sound (very adjustable), with crystal clear highs, powerful mids and strong bass. To raise the awareness of it's bass output, I'd compare to a Hitachi 3D2, but it achieves this without any form of a super woofer. The speakers flap a bit (unsurprizing with their lask of size) at higher volumes, so the 100hz slider has to the brought down, but at lower volumes, the bass is like a 3D2 (which I have) but the highs are 10X better than the Hitachi's.

The Panasonic RX-FM15, mostly because it comes in so many versions, including lots of colors, a National with SW bands, and a Quasar.

Both very small & packed with toys usually only found on the big boys.

Heres one that to my knowledge isn't in the database.It is the G.E. 3-5219A mono box I found at the thriftstore.It is my favorite because it is my most used boombox when I am in front of my P.C..It's nice and loud for its size.It even has a miniature standard style boombox handle and two watch style strap pins at each end.The 5219A is small enough for me to reposition in tight spaces for the purposes of fine tuning shifting and fading A.M. radio signals.

oldskool69-yes,a remote jack is a curious feature for such a small radio.Not exactly a useful feature.However,This mini itself is very practical for my living space and see use daily.

walkgirl-It has a standard style cassette.If it were a micro cassette,it would be even more unique if impossibly small.It's too bad the micro cassette didn't take off in a big way.There are no lights on this unit for tuning or illumination.Your question has given me the idea for a lighted tuning scale similar to the rising 20/20s except with LED bulbs.I don't think I've ever seen a boombox this small with a lighted tuning scale.That would be unique!

I like the M7950K because of its sound full an rich for a mini
But for simplicity I like the M7770K because its durable and it has mechanical
pushbuttons for the cassette unlike the M7950K which has soleniods

Jovie, My miniboombox does have a lamp in the tuner
scale!!!

My favorite mini is my Panasonic RX-F20, which is pictured in my avatar. Sounds incredible for such a tiny boombox.

scored a mint sanyo 7850k today,super chrome finish am,fm,sw1 and sw2 and cass. all works best of all price $5.00 at the thrift store,pics to follow,tommorow,later!

GE 3-5285-A from the thrift store. $2.75 (Got it half off!!!) Has bass/treble controls, speaker connections via RCA plugs, remote and mic inputs. A nice loaded mini! Everything works! Just need to clean it up.

You Put a Cassette in and push play,
the amss has zero at this point, then you can "tap"
the ( amss program button ) to the desired number
that you wish to skip, either in foward or rewind mode.
Now that you have "Tapped" to a specific number
depress either FF or REW and the amss will go that many
songs or blank spaces to your desired selection on
your Cassette. While this is occuring the number in
the amss window counts down as it is passing blank
spaces on you cassette . I hope this answers your question ... James
