Wow, beautiful!
The black framing around the speaker area really sets off the chrome! Congrats on this one! Glad to hear it sounds good.
Are those 3-way speakers? It looks like mid-ranges are set into the middle of the woofers, similar to the Sharp GF-9696.
I recently scored a three-piece Toshiba with an amp problem. Shipped and all for grand total of $36. Its getting looked at for potential fix right now... will post pics when I get it back, hopefully in working condition... (When I took it into the shop, they owner/tech was amazed and looking forward to working on it.)
It's a really good looking Toshiba!! I like this model

yes 3 way speakers, set in middle of woofers.

also -- the wide mode on fm stereo is freaky/scary good
so get it on your best fm stereo station -- try it --and report back here

, its like the sound is around you, hence stereo wide. i do have other boxes with the wide function but they dont sound as good as this one
Very nice indeed Geoff - had an idea I'd be seeing that box again if a member got it (assuming it was an ebay purchase). Shame I don't know when you are bidding as I probably cost you an extra £25 as it was probably just you and me!!

hi ewen, i only put one bid in at the very end, before i bid there was only 2 bidders bidding each other up,

I had a Tosh similar to yours and the thing I liked about mine is that it was bigger in person than in pictures. Pretty close to the same size as an M70 if remember correctly...

well i got the tape deck working, just needed new belts, the old ones had turned to liquorice, so the clean up was more time consuming than the belt change itself, was dissapointed with the biuld quality, very flimsey inside, and not a lot to it, but it was fairly easy.
odd connector from the tape deck to the main pcb

the bass range is good to, something i havnt seen before is the loudness function, it intergrated on the volume, go over half way and the loudness function kicks in,
its a 3 way system like the gf9696

Looks like Toshiba used the same belts as Aiwa.
