I have some leads on a few boxes and wondered what the knowledgeable folks here would go for first since I haven't heard any of these in person.

pioneer FA C7Z
GF 9696
GF 9191
sharp 939

They might all be an illusion but we'll see!

for me it would have to be the 777, great looks and good sound

i have a 9191 and it sounds great and feels nice and heavy , i also have a 767 similar to 777, this sounds awsome too, out of the both of these in my collection i prefer the 9191 as i love the bling bling chrome switches and buttons on the top

Yes, sorry for the interruption, this Chun Feng is illusion, I mean for chance to get it, but for me its just look antique beautiful.

Now, back to the main request for opinions about 5 blah boxes. Since I haven't heard non of this boxes, for me only by visual have to be GF9191.

Wow thanks for all the input. I was leaning towards the pioneer myself 1st off.

I will let you all know how it works out once it's a done deal, hopefully not another boombox illusion that fades into the mist.

And the chun feng is a monster! I want that too.

9696 (I've got one, and love it to bits).

777 I'd like to get one someday, cool looks and from what I've read pretty good sound.

The Pioneer actually doesn't do a lot for me, surprisingly as I'm normally singing the praises of the Pioneer boxes, this one doesn't appeal visually to me, but is more than likely amazing quality deep, rich sound with a first class tuner.

Thanks for all the thoughts , i am still going to get the pioneer, waiting for a few "proof" shots and then will do, it's a convoluted story so will fill you all in when it happens...if it happens as planned...
