I've been looking for 2 years or so and not found a single boombox worth pursuing on Craigslist until last week, when I found this diamond in the rough! Sanyo M-X820K

It needs some serious cleanup and lots of tapedeck work... But, its a worthy find nonetheless! Got it for what I think is a very worthy price, considering its generally poor condition.

But, it does have potential...

I may keep, or pass on to another member here per a deal made in advance. At this point, I'm not exactly sure yet how I feel about taking on the project. But, this is a rare box, especially with the faux wood around the outer edge.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to encourage those of you without luck on craigslist to keep at it! My faith is somewhat renewed! Now if I could only find that elusive in-the-wild M90!!!

JT, you are not alone in not having luck in the wild! My best find was only a panny ds620.. not that rare but still a good box for a in "the wild".

NICE!! I found on on Craiglist not toooo long ago myself. I got the mics and the manual. Then went and got an original box too.

Well, its a homemade metal cover by the previous owner. The original was obviously lost or broken. The box does have quite a few issues. I'd take Petey's over this one any day of the week!
