Hey Guys n' Gals!!!
Long time no post!
Anyway, I just wanted to share some thanks for the members who were looking out for me on a Black Sansui CP-7. I have been quite busy as of late so I haven't paid much attention to the site, let alone eBay.
Suffice it to say I missed on it.
And a former member here will now have it. If you need a hint let's just say it's on it's way to a "Decent Dump".
For those of you that don't know, this unit is my personal grail. I have the silver one, and a black CP-5. But the black CP-7 is the creme 'de la creme for me.
I have been hunting this beast since 1983 when I first laid my eyes on it. Those who have those childhood radios they wanted so bad but may have been just out of reach will know what I'm talking about. So if I were to be asked if I am disappointed, well, yes but only slightly. Here is why...
Given what is going on in the world today, in the grand scheme of things, it is just that, a radio. Damn, nice one for sure. But a radio nonetheless.
You see, sometimes we just have to put things into perspective. I have an awsome savior in Jesus, a beautiful wife and three awsome kids all in good health, a cantankerous Siberian Husky who is loads of fun, a new 2009 Dodge Ram (WITH A HEMI! WOO-HOO!) as a anniversary gift, nice house, great neighborhood, awsome church, awsome freinds, great job (Stressful at times though!
), and most of my extended family is sane.
There is some stressful situations in my life right now but in the big picture...life is great.
To some, I'm crazy with this hobby of collecting old boomers, whittling away time on s2g, and listening to supergroups like Yes, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Parliament/Funkadelic, Kool & The Gang, and on and on.
And I do have some great radios. And because of this site, some wonderful relationships as a result of the common love for these old relics.
All that being said, do I still want the Black CP-7? H#LL YEAH!!!
And I'll have another shot I'm sure. Maybe not with the original box, papers and all, but another shot for sure.
And of course, to all my family here on Stereo2Go...
STAY AWSOME, PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL!!!

Amen brother!!!!
Glad you have your life in front of your boxes.
Unlike some bus drivers we all know.
Good to see you back on site.
You will have your grail some day , meanwhile
enjoy that chocolaty Telefunken you got there.

Very well put OS, perspective is oh so important. Seems sometimes we lose sight of that but posts like this can help remind us.
You are well grounded and blessed in many ways, we should all take a lesson or two from you.
Peace and Love back at you brother and to all S2G members. Without you and all here we wouldn't have nearly the direction, protection and sheer pleasure in this hobby.
I know how much you wanted that model... and seeing how perfect it was... and complete... and then on the top of it all knowing where it is going to END UP.
I swear I would still be throwing up if that was my ultimate grail... I taste something coming up right now in fact...
with spud
-- that was a puke city loss
but yes "in the grand scheme of things"
alot of us -- up close - saw your big HEMI --
and we saw what an extra beautiful, cool wife you do have -
SO.........
you are doing real fine w/o another cp-7
nothing real personal freddie ....
but with NO analogue tuner
and with NO analogue meters
its an overweight 3 piece WTF !!
Well said Fred!!!!
Your perspective is excellent and you have the
wisdom of someone Ira's age....
You know how to wear life like a loose garment, to let go of the struggles of life and have gratitude.
Excellent!
Ignore the man in the flipflops shorts and the Hawaian shirt........
I think vladi should drive down to Houston, beat the crap out of DM4U, and get the Sansui for oldskool69 where it will be in a good, clean environment
. Hell if i lived closer i would gladly do it myself, and get the bolt box that he never sent me at the same time

Great to hear from you OldSkool, hope you get that black CP-7 one day, I guess this time it wasn't right for it unfortunately. Here's to you finding a cheaper one, in better condition, in the wild to make it even more special when you get one.
Looking forward to you posting more on here when life permits.
Rock On brother.

Unfortunately not oldskool. I do believe a belts issue is the only hurdle. It didnt sell AGAIN!!!!
Don't worry about it,I have a feeling one will come along with a lower price tag with your name on it.

We'll all work hard here to get you that CP-7.....
I'll be on the look out over here for you too. If I hear of one, I'll either get it for you, or get you the info.
Glad to have you back Freddie.
