That really s--cks. I hate it when bbx's get f--ked up in transit. Is that a cigarette burn on the top.
Yes that is a burn, but it was in there before the "smash" happened.
Oh man skippy you just ruined my day...that's just WRONG
I think floyd can bring her back to life
-gsbadbmr
I can't understand this !!!
What's happening ?
No shipped BBX will arrive without damage.
Are they stupid ?. I guess that, even dropping this BBX (without any package) against the floor, it won't broke in that way.
It's supposed that they work shiping things around the world ,what is the benefit of destroying whatever they ship ?.
Did you pay with broken notes ?.
Anyway you should try to glue the radio ... and avoid shippings !!!
Thanks guys.
Yes I don't know what happened either.
Since it is a grail,I had that thing packed bombproof.
It looks like they took a hammer to it.
I've shipped a lot of boomboxes and only had a few damaged in all the years.
I'm guess if it had to happen,I'm glad it was mine and not someone I sold or traded with.
I would feel gutted if it was someone elses Box.......
Sorry about the bad luck. Thats a real bummer.
It looks like it could be superglued back together with some patience.
That's terrible to see
UGHH
Wow, check those magnets.
What?
unbelievable, sorry for that casualty skippy.
Hope that you will fixed easy.
Would be interesting how such damage can happen...
Awful!
I took the RX-5350 apart tonight to look around and I found more damage, but I can fix it. I put arrows by the broken bits....
Maybe they thought it was a CF-18!
Skippy sorry to hear about this. man that is frustrating.
Thanks Brian.......

I know you probably wouldnt want to ship the whole unit again but I can fix that corner bondo and paint that suka up for ya if you just want to send me the back.
Then again I can fix the burn mark too and paint the face.
Bastards
Old,brittle plastic + monkey brain delivery folks = really bad recipe.
I've seen some miracles performed on plastic, hopefully a similar miracle will grace you!
blah.blah.blah - 2009-02-11 21:24

skippy --last summer, a whole pack of us s2g members saw the great results of franks repairs --up close --
so --its far from all over for your box
(and if you decide to $$ unload it - he is your most logical customer) RIGHT ??

I might take you up on that Frank. I'm waiting to hear from Prime,he said he can fix my board good as new. I'll see how that goes first, then I'll decide. Thanks man.
Ouch!
At least you all got skillz to repair this lovely thing!

Well,I know people who have the skillz Jeff......
Looks like a clean break. No missing pieces also.Glue it back together and, most of all,put it into heavy use and enjoy it!If it functions like normal, don't worry about it.It's water under the bridge..........or give it to me!
Best of luck with this repair. It will be worth it for sure in the end. 5350 is awesome!!
Well I'm never using Fedex again. My claim for the damage on the 5350 was declined. Screw them jerks,I'm done giving them money to break my stuff...... I'll go with UPS from now on I guess, they cost more but what else can I do?
this is extremely surprising and upsetting--
the only grounds for escaping their responsibility --
would be if they are claiming that
1. the box 'must have' been broken before shipment
2. or, your packing was inadequate
since neither is true-
what was their excuse ??
also --
as there is both a whopping $500
and a definite injustice involved --
can we all help ?
if you post up your claim number -
then - many of us can write to fedex legal and PR
to attest for your legendary honesty and packing.
-----assume that they WONT CARE about that-
but- as a matter of bottom-line $$$ business--
they DONT want to lose 100 life-long customers over your $500

sorry jovie i already asked for it first
Scott, terrible news - what did they say??
ghettoboom777 - 2009-02-15 11:44
Hi-Sorry to hear about that.
That's just ridiculous-what,do we have to take time sensitive photos to insure our boxes now??
It seems that even with my boxes that are packed from some e-bayers are wrapped like they young babies get dented around even,at least the boxes get pounded(dented up).
All I can say is use even more bubble wrap-wrap it like a mummy-it seems this is the only way anything will arrive undamaged-hopefully.
I'm sure that you packed it well though but it seems as if someone is taking their aggresions on our boomboxes-makes you want to take out your aggressions on the driver maybe!
Yeah-I know that ain't right either but yes-this stuff makes me mad.
Good luck-it sounds like Frank (Transamguy1977) can fix this up nice for you.
Have a better week-GB.
Thanks for the support guys.
I don't know what their stupid reasoning was for declining the claim,I'm going to call them tomorrow and *****. I'm sure they are going to come up with some "cocamamee" excuse why they declined it. All I know is I'm through screwing around with FedEx. It's UPS from now on for me.......

It might be worth a try I guess.
My Case # is 01299325505.
Ref # 997020050642415.
Tracking #304659010002776.
skippy - we need to also know how you are contacting fedex
--is it email ??
whats that address ?
is it local wisconsin phone ? what number?
or their 800 number ? whats that-
i will do it tomorrow
Really, wow that is very cool of you Ira.
I am getting tired of dealing with these dips--ts
Maybe you will have better results, but I'm not holding my breath......
All you do is call 1 800 GoFedex. We just called them and spoke to a representative . I even spoke to a stupidvisor..........
this sucks ,you dont know how bad i felt having to tell scott his box got busted up , still the rx 5350 is an outstanding looking huge ass box very much worth fixing up to me.
Thanks Floyd,I was really upset when you told me it got busted. I thought you were kidding at first,until...... I saw your pics.
skippy --here is some slightly better news --or some 'hope'
1. spoke to a PR rep named Annette Pate today --she said that you can and SHOULD -re-submit your claim for an additional review
2. and --a LETTER to the 'higher ups' at headquarters gets alot more attention -- the address is :
Fedex Cargo Claims Dept.
po box #256
pittsburgh, pa 15230
we cant just let you drop the $500 claim !!
RIGHT ??
Ya, maybe it's their standard operating procedure - to deny ALL claims the first time around. Not everybody would re-file the claim, so this might be their way to save a little....
Thanks a million Ira,I'm giving it a try now.
skippy --the reason i posted up the address -instead of just a PM to you --
was so that we can all have it on file --
if thats how fedex has treated you --then assume you are not the only member with a denied claim
anyhow -- good luck - and then, report back here with some better results !!
Thanks man!
Ok,so I wrote a letter to Fed Ex.
I also included.
Color photos of the damage.
Fedex's own claims info with details.
The pictures about the original value of the RX-5350.
We'll just see what happens now.......
