Just thinking about the songs/artists/albums that I consistently play on my BBX's. There's a small handful that I really love. SO - let's here from everyone:
Name your top three favorite songs/artists/albums that you play on your BBX's. To be clear - these are not necessarily your top three all-time favorites. They're ones that you love to hear on your BBX's.
Mine are:
1. Any song from Missing Persons "Spring Session M" (love the entire album from start to finish) There's a fantastic "tension" to almost every song. Complex musical arrangements that sound good on BBX's that are powerful and clear.
2. Go Go's "Beauty and the Beat" - Featured in Rolling Stone's Top 500 albums of all time. A California "surf rock" sound that sounds good on anything.
3. Go Go's "Vacation" LP. Not as much a commercial success as "Beauty and the Beat" but Gina Shock pounds the drums like a mad women through out the album. Also, Kathy Valentines bass guitar is really "up front" in many of the songs. Great drum / bass guitar music for bass-heavy BBX's like the GF-777.
Of the last week or so:
1. Schoolly D: P.S.K. What Does It Mean?
2. Koto: Jabdah
3. Ready For The World: Oh Sheila (extended mix)
Rock On.
1. anything from the red peters. CKECK THEM OUT FUNNY STUFF
2. Strokin
3. OUTHERE BROTHERS ... I can't say the name of the song. ..... I does have to do with a body part and a action I will put it that way....
Just hard to take 3 off, because there are so many....
Most of the 80´s!
Ok, 3 just for fun:
ELO - hold on tight REOsw - Keep the fire... Other ones - Holliday
anything that sounds good played loud while listening out in the garage ..
i see you are a missing persons fan , dale bozzio happens to be a very good friend of my dads and is at my parents house often.you are right there music sounds great on the old boxes . john

Weelanddeal,
WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Dale Bozzio is a friend of your Dads?
I LOVE this woman!! She was and is my favorite musical personality of all time!
I actually dyed my hair blue and red (yes, both colors at the same time...and in Western Pennsylvania) in the early 80's to match that killer hair she had. My parents weren't thrilled but I thought it was cool as hell.
Missing Persons played at the Syria Mosque ballroom in Pittsburgh back in the day. I wasn't allowed to go to the concert b/c my parents caught wind that Dale Bozzio sometimes wore a clear plexi-glass bra on stage.
ANY CHANCE OF AN AUTOGRAPH FROM THIS DIVA OF L.A. NEW WAVE?????
send me your address , i will have her sign something for you , a cd or something .it will be no problem . email it to my email jpamaral@aol.com

71SPUD,
Amii Stewart - Knock on Wood...killer song, killer video. Forgot about this one. Will add it to my BBX music collection.
I would say :
Beastie Boys - Intergalactic
Daft Punk - Rollin' n Scratchin'
I use them to test boombox when I receive a new one
and Lately Rye Rye :
www.myspace.com/tharealryeryeI like so much Wassup Wassup and Hardcore Girls, and It fit really good with bbx ! (wassup wassup is a kind of remix of the first public enemy hit, "public enemy N°1" )
I recorded them with audacity and putted them on my mp3 player and let's turn the knob XD
100% old skool:
Herbie Hancock - Rockit
Shannon - Let The Music Play
LL Cool J - I Can't Live Without My Radio
...Amii Stewart's Knock on Wood was one of the first records I heard on the radio & immediately thought "I have to get that". I was 9 years old...
Daft Punk - One More Time
Grace Jones - Pull up to the bumper
New Order - Blue Monday
Walkgirl, you're kidding us, right
Well, they are perfect loud play zongs!
Kingston Town is one of my faves. Lately, I've been listening to funky late 70's hits I remember from when I was about 10- 11yrs old. Takes me back.

never really got into the la ska punk stuff tho. the odd track *****ed up my ears tho and caught my attention. i really love the lowfi early leslie kong two track stuff tho that came out of kingston in the 60s.
so now for my three favorite boombox songs.
hmmmmm
its really hard for me to even pick three. i mean i listen to so much music lately mostly demos from the label i am now working with and well there is just so much music i dont really have anything in rotation.
