Coach Adam to DJ Adam

Hi all. Last Saturday I was 'Bamboozled' into providing the music at our local Special Olympics winter dance for our athletes. Over 200 people showed up. The disabled athletes deserved it. They have to work harder to overcome their challenges to compete and still represent our community. I coach & volunteer when I can. Needless to say, I felt pressured to cover the music. I have no DJ equipment at all except for a microphone (No, I can't beatbox). It was at this time, I wish I had an iDJ mixer more than ever. Anyway, I decided to be creative and used my laptop's (iTunes) music to pump out the tunes into 4 of my loudest and biggest BoomBoxes. They were daisy chained and stacked for a wall of sound. It was a total success. I displayed all my boxes for everyone to admire. Boy, did every generation get a kick out of them! Cool Some coaches took photos. I'll try and scout some and post asap. I've already been booked for a March Dance. Now, I Really need to buy an iDJ mixer. Do you think Gord would loan me his 19 Conions for the March Dance? Can't guarantee he'd get he Gold one back though. Big Grin

That's an awesome story, Adam. Hopefully you can find some pics of the "wall." Man, how awesome would it be to have 18 Conions pumping out some old-school jams!! Cool

Thanks!! I do have fun myself doing DJ work that is for sure. I mainly use MP3 now. I haven't touched a cd or turntable for DJ work in over 10 years! The program I have been using is called virtual DJ. Lets me do basic mixing without a extra controller. Perfect for weddings or chairity events.

I just love how music just makes people happy. It is amazing. Even people that are not music "fans" get happy when they hear something good.

It sounds like you had a great time also!!
