Sharp GF 9595

coolcol - 2009-04-08 03:16

Hi everyone, i have looked in the cupboard as i found two sharps boombox ghettoblaster thing as both of them are GF 9595.

One is in a fairly superb condition as the other one is in a ok condition but no handle.

I was quite surprised of the sound of these early units much better in comparsion with the tinny sounds you get today.

Do anyone know what is the selling price of these as i may keep one but sell the other one.

I welcome all your feedback

Thank you,

Colin

Welcome Coolcol. Cool

Please see this link regarding boombox prices:Boombox prices

Your best bet is to do some research on ebay, S2g, etc. as prices vary wildly on boomboxes. All you can really do is determine the current average prices and price yours accordingly (or whatever you want), if someone is willing to pay what you want then you have a deal. I know that sounds simple and maybe a little brash but that's pretty much how it goes with these old boxes.

I may be naive at times skippy but I think if he tries to get the original retail for it he won't sell it. Big Grin

Thank you for the sheet of the original price as that must have been well expensive for the average guy then.

Thank you again

Well, they never sold for those prices, that's just what the manufacturer recommends as the recommended selling price.

I paid $300 (completely emptied my pockets) for my GF-8686 back in 1981. It's listed as item number "F" with a suggested retail of $359.95 - but in the picture it shows a GF-8585 as "F" Eek It's Really cool to see that advertisement - thanks for posting it up!
