Aiko Disco Light

This stereo shaped cheesefest isn't currently working, but thought I'd share the love with some pix as I've not seen her on here before.

I picked her up cheap, but it seems like a reasonable quality radio, for a cheapy. The design seems to be ripped from panasonic/national, but with the addition of some nice extras. The point of sale stickers still on it was a nice bonus too. The disco lights are a star shaped array of 12 LED's next to the tweeter.

Check out the impossibly awesome way the Graphic Equaliser text has been stylistically designed. Amazing. Lots of other 'nothing' specs all over her which adds immensely to the charm. Heres the back sticker in case she's missing from the database.

I really would like to get her fixed up. Currently theres no power by AC, but I get lights on and tape motors running nicely with batteries. Theres no sound at all via headphones or speakers, which need to be wired to the main unit. Someone has cut them previously but they do still work as I tested them through another box. But no sound through her whatsoever makes me less hopeful I'll be able to fix the problem so she'll be going to a professional once my Hitachi and Denon are fixed.

Some really nice features though, I especially like how the tuner needle is the fm stereo LED, nice touch that. Really smooth action on the cassette decks too, especially in comparison to the fairly cheap quality of the overall build. Still, it's the closest I'll probably ever get to 'genuine' disco lite, and she just oozes street cred.

Rock On.

Not National/Panasonic related but definitely Sharp related.
