Hey, at the local thrift store a few days ago I saw this JVC with a little black/white tv facing up on the top edge with all of the controls on the edge. It had a large speaker on one side with a smaller tweeter. Is this a rare box? I have never come across such a beast and am considering buying it tomorrow should is still be there ( there's a yellow Sony sports radio there too heh
) What do you guys think about the JVC, is it a true type of blaster or just a portable tv
eric
I always pass on those, Eric. I've seen loads of them around and know where there are some for sale right now. I see them as portable TV, radio, tape recorder things - not proper boomboxes. They just look plain weird to me. I've probably seen the JVC model you mentioned. I hate the way the writing around the tape door is upside down if you stand the thing upright like a normal boombox. They're meant to be used when sitting flat on a table, resting on the folded-around handle so you can see the TV. When you're using them like that, you can read the writing around the tape door properly. I don't like them at all. Just my personal opinion...
analogue tv is going digital so that will only work on tv out in the boonies where the is no Digital so... if you want to get something that will have no use because that isnt supported anymore ... just my view ...
I dont buy any portable tv's unless its a digital and presently I do have 1 popup tv portable...
..and then the rest that I have are analogue the; 13 daewoo, 19 goldstar, 27 sanyo, 32 emprex, and of course 3 computers with those ATI's (all in wonder) video card's in them so you could count them as tv's but they are analogue as well ...
.... Nah ....
Yeah, I kinda figured it was more portable tv than boombox, I was just curious as to what you guys thought.
