got my new 3d today unpacked it and seems to be in good order no damage and it is in remarkable condition so far sounds great but seems to have smaller speakers than the other 3ds yet sounds better? incase you were wondering its a CX-W500.
The coolest bit is when you use the remote to turn up volume the knob moves!

Altho the pics are very laaarrrge,thats a nice box,wonder what isolator will say when he see`s that,he loves 3d`s..i think he`s got every 3d model out there..

I for no good reason have two of these, both now with the remote.
It's a good box, must've cost a packet back then - they didn't bung features like remote with motorised volume control on anything in those days.
You're right about the speakers. The centre woofers are the concertina-edged type & don't have the same wallop as the roll-edged type fitted to some 3Ds. However, the sound is good, esp. from the CD player. You'll probs find your 3D80/88s play a bit louder too - they had higher output than the CX-W500
