Any of you guys have one of these ? IT's a Tobishi P-2000. A friend of mine gave it to me over the weekend and I've never seen one or heard of it. Not that I know every boombox but for the most part when it's a big one like this I've seen it at one time or another (LOL I didn't even know what my Llyods box was)but I've never seen one of these. It's HUGE (and cool looking) but seems cheaply built. I tried powering it up at the hotel over the weekend and there were a lot of issues so I'll have to open it up and see what's going on
I was just wondering if any of you guys knew anything about them ? How many years they were made ? What years ? Were there any AKA's ? Do they sound good ? Anything you guys might know about them would be helpful
Thanks in advance guys
Oh and if Tobishi made any other models ?
You get any sound out of it?
Looks cool, certainly a relic of the 80's!
And you say a buddy jut GAVE it to you? Nice score!
I need some new friends.
Peace,
Paul Z.
I assure you it will cost me but yeah a friend found it at a local flea-market and his exact words when handing it over were "Dude take it... We'll figure it out later but you owe me"
Never good LOL

Nice! Those were made under numerous names, Blaunkton and Trident are two that come to mind. I have the exact box in the Blaunkton brand but unfortunately it participated in the power supply relocation program during shipping.
I never got to hear it as it was DOA.
Please give us a reveiw when you get a chance.
i traded one of those to skippy1969 only it was the trident p2000 model ,it is cheaply built but suprizingly loud and the sound isn't bad it's similar to a lasonic 931 but i think the p2000 is louder ,the controls suck but overall iv'e seen worse boxes the casing is pretty tough but the front panel is very flimsy if you push on the front of the box it flexes ,one thing tho it is about the easiest box in the world to work on and it is very loud and halfway good sounding light weight just dont expect too much pecision from it but i would take it if i found one cheap or free ,the one i had was as loud as the conion believe it or not, also the power consumption rating was 60 watts.
Here is the Trident P2000 that Floyd had. It is loud! Mine needs the decks, but thee radio works as well as the Aux.It is just a giant Ipod dock right now,LOL!
My son has the trident version, it is loud!
Thanks Guys !
Jimski your boy must think your a GOD giving him such a huge Blaster ! RIGHT ON !
Those pix are awesome and I agree the gold Trident is really nice looking ! Imagine if it had chrome grills instead of black
I got the thing to power up and I got Deck A working perfect. Deck B needs a belt (I can hear it running) but your right it is surprisingly loud and sounds pretty good. Unfortunately mine lacks an aux/in so it's an enormous cassette player at the moment however I'll probably open it up this evening and see if I can work out the FM band ? It's powering up but FM's not adjusting with the volume and the tuner knob seems to change nothing. Maybe the Band select switch is beat ?
It is cleaning up pretty nice
& Run DMC sounds really good although it lacks deep bass
Nice 'box, Smokin_Endo!
I'm yet to find a huge, cheap black box like that!!
Is this thing bigger than the GF-777?
Thanks RA
It's about 3/4 of an inch wider but 3/4 of an inch shorter then the 777 so I'm not sure ? LOL But I will say that it "looks" bigger then any box I have just because of the huge 10" drivers
Now I have to open it up and see why the FM band isn't working ? I'm getting a signal on the SW channel but no FM
I guess if they al worked 100% it would get sorta kinda boring ? I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to get it working. I'm already impressed with the sound that comes from Deck A and can only imagine how good it sounds on the tuner
Yeah he takes it on his skateboard missions, and he is constanly asking for cash for batteries for it,little does he know he is going to get cut off the battery cash handout

Good luck on the fix!
^ LOL Your right
I just glanced over and though they were 10's when they were sitting next to the 777 cause of the 6"ers
