15? Damn Pumpaction you don't need a home Hi-Fi with that many TF's in the house.
Both of those on the bottom are bronze, right? Cuz if one of them is black, that's a pretty disappointing black.

His right......since he sold it to me!.....
kid.sensation - 2008-08-11 11:44
there is a black version. It's rather rare.
Once in a while one pops up on ebay.de..Also saw an owners-manual or hifi-ad with the black one.
Maybe DjYetix can help in this case i think he owns a black one.Maybe pump also does.
kid.sensation - 2008-08-11 11:52
seems like DJYetix's Telefunken-Tower features at least one or two black versions:
but maybe it's just the lightning.
But i know for sure that there where black ones.
sorry for the rather off-topic post.
Hi there,
I only have brown and silver types. At the moment I own 15 complete units...
kid.sensation - 2008-08-11 14:05
so it was the lightning that miselead me
But can anyone say for sure that there was a black one?
Im pretty sure there was one
TA !!!

AK ive seen your vids on youtube!!! they rocked some bass even into my M-90 speakers while I was watching them. Very nice
I am speachless!
That tower is simply amazing!!!
Common in Germany eh? Like Lasonic 931's in the U.S.?
Need to find me one!
now realize --that any member with less than a dozen of these things --
is not a serious collector --and just a dabbler !!
transamguy1977 - 2008-08-11 18:33
So far 7 total US.
These are as abundent in germany as the M-70 in America
transwave5000 - 2008-08-11 22:19
They were not made in Canada as far as I know but alot of Telefunken Electronics were imported into Canada, they had a distributor there.
Here's my two. A Studio 1 on the left and a 1M on the right.
ghettoboom777 - 2008-08-12 21:18
Hi-I was somewhat close to getting one but it went for about 475-485 last week.
I was willing to go to about 350 but maybe next time.I seriously want one of these!
By the way-KidSensation-That's a beautiful tower of boom!!
Very cool!
I have heard that the sound on these is maybe perhaps the best-possibly equalling or bettering the M-90 & 777's.Is the bass on the Telefunken as good as the GF-777??
I have to get one though.
Thanks-Ghettoboom777.
I would hope better than a 777?
Id say a Marantz 7000 and one of these would be a good comparison?
The Marantz I just bought... but this thread isnt going to help me get a 1M anytime soon now with all the interest and only a half dozen in the country!

Hi AK74-Thanks for that-now I know I need to get one by next year if possible!!
I have a 2nd.777 and now it's a Telefunken or a good M70 first if I can get a good deal.
I may wait on the M-90-I think I want the Telefunken first-I'll bet I'll cost plenty.
I think I should have taken that one for $485.00. Is that a good deal?? Everything was in working order.
Thanks again & have a great week-Ghettoboom777.

How did your mod effect the batteries?? longer life or more sound output on battery ?
transamguy1977 - 2008-08-13 15:02
So far 8 owners and 10 telefunken studios in the US of A.
WOW these a pretty rare around these parts
Whats the difference between the studio 1 and the 1M is it the tone color or output?
The Studio 1 (which I have) only goes to 104mHz. The 1M goes to 108mHz. That's it.

1. Tuning range (as
oldskool69 pointed out)
2. The 1M has metal tape capability.
3. The Studio 1 has smaller dustcaps than the 1M.
They look identical on the inside , but the
Studio 1 has slightly better bass than the 1M.
Can anyone else who has both models confirm this?

I forgot about the metal tape capability and never even noticed the dustcap difference. Wow.

I have a Studio 1, and it does not have a voltage selector switch on the back. And since the Studio 1 is the EU version, I always assumed it was 220V only. Am I wrong?
It will work on 120V. You have to take the back off and change the location of the fuses.
OK, here's how it looks now. Where should the fuse be for 110V?
Just as the sticker shows you can move it to the left or right.
Why do they give you 2 choices, left or right? Are you sure there's not supposed to be 2 fuses, for both left AND right?
