I'm soooooo stoked!!!!! Dropped my Lasonic off about 3 weeks ago to have the power button repaired. The tape decks wouldn't work, and a wire was loose on the LED meters. Plus it was missing one antenna. Well anyway, he fixed the tape decks. The motor was fine. He said it was a bad capacitor. The power button was kicking off because of a surge. He said he moved something away from the power switch and sprayed it with contact cleaner. Works like a champ. LED wire was super easy fix. And the antenna just came in last night.
So guess the grand total of the bill???
Yep, $50 bucks!!! Can you believe it???? Now I will have a completely functional Lasonic 975.... in NEAR mint condition for a total of $50 bucks.... I found it on the curb on trash day.
My only mistake with this unit.... when I first started cleaning it I was kind of bummed because the front of it was bubbling up. I thought the plastic was junk or something. Turns out it was the ORIGINAL factory protective plastic still on it!!!! So dumb me, I peeled it off. But I did leave the plasic that covers the tuning dial on.
If only I discovered this site a little bit earlier. I prob peeled off about $100 worth off film in resale value???? Hahah. Who knows. On the good side though..... Man, the plastic underneath is perfect. Not a scratch on it.
I will post some REAL pics soon. Got to get something other then my phone camera.
Left my nice camera in my friends car after a night out of darts and drinking.... but that is a whole other story....
