While at the dump the other day, i was digging in the bin (this means leaning over to see what you can reach or using a long pole to hook out, or even some times if it's full enough getting one of the boys to jump in and grab quickly some thing good - all this has to be done with watchfull eye's as this is a non-seller recycle centre - the head office peps don't like the back handers going on and staff can get fired
so i saw this and saved it - 5th Gen i-pod - turned it on - yup works - next try the dial - yup works - press play - no
the thing just jumped through each song within seconds
well i thought that i would plug it in to the laptop and see if any thing could be done ?
cleared and reset it with latest version of apple i-pod
loaded up my songs (1500+)
ok to disconect
and press play
it works
now i have another i-pod tio run through my boxes and best of all, it was FREE
so it leads me to the next point of why people just throw things away without even trying to fix it
it had all his photo's on there - one was of him naked
showed the girlfriend and she said he used to go to the same collage years ago - why did he not delete them or destroy the i-pod
like most things that get thrown away - no one trys to fix it - my 9494 came the same way - free and allfully working, so now i can run my free i-pod through it
any one that thinks that they would never dig in the bins for item's - just think what gets chucked away without a thought
cheers B
excellent stuff, nice one.
Just a software upodate & reset did it?
crazy.
I've got to know, which dump do you visit?
...don't worry I won't be along there, I don't have the luxury of the time!

Hey BC, do you live next to a dump or something? you seem to be at the dump or going through the trash a lot.

i do gardening for age concern and have to get rid of all the garden rubbish - so it works out sweetly - that way if the top dogs are there, i just dropping off and they can't do any thing about it
the other thing is you have to check weekly if you can before others/ before it's crushed, or rained on
belive me a lot of boxes, that you buy on ebay come from dumps and the same with bmx's - price will go up 3 to 4 time what they pay - think about that
Talk about MANNA FROM HEAVEN!!! Wow, 1500 songs!!! What type of music did you download? You've got me wanting to check out the garbage bins now!!!

Hes doing the "inside job" thing.
Shhhhh...
That's amazing! iPods are so expensive to buy, even second-hand ones.
