I like it more than anyone on the site!
Very nice work! Like James(pw67), how'd ya do it?
(Paint obviously but what type, polishing, etc.)
Man, that's sweet!
masterblaster84 - 2008-08-01 20:07

all i did was: washed it complete, wiped it out and I used a very light grit sandpaper on parts where is kind of rough only to smooth it out a bit. the paint is black satin, i didnt do anything else besides of cleaning the speakers and the tuner window .
Fantastic job man that M-70 looks pimping.
Wow , it looks great in black.
Truly an awesome job.
Maybe , you can sell it on Ebay if you don't want it anymore. You can write in the description that this was a limited edition of the M 70
Some dumb ass may believe that
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
thats funny, eddy ----
were it not for the trusty bbdb --
i would actually tend to believe that....
and want to buy it !!
Dag gum!!
IF i am correct ?? ---that
the jvc m70 is/was the most successful $$ and popular box ever made --
then , having the all-too-common grey version -
is no big deal --
so - if this was an oem factory black edition -
every collector would be after it.
Personally, I'd like to see what an M90 looks like in black or silver... The stock color of that box is soooooo boring!
Back on a related note, how does the M70 sound? It seems that everybody here and their grandmother has one.
Is this a box I should buy in the future?
I had the same thougts a while ago.
The M 90 would look good in black , but unlike the M 70 the M 90 has printed stuff to be replaced.
I have a 90 with some wear on the housing , so if i had a way to replace that printing it would be a black one soon
That's an excellent point about the writing and all... The final frontier in boombox color changing is having some way to digitally copy the silkscreened info and then reapplying it to the box after the paint dries. The day that wall is broken down...
Hey, Driptip you didn't take pictures of your project like a step by step proceedure.
She looks fantastic I've always thought the M-70 would have looked better in black.

gee just get a really high resolution camera and some good scaling software and somebody that knows how to use that . uh . software and such and make it happen :-) James
I've never been a fan of the M70s styling. However,it seems to work well with the black. It brings out the rather lean looking chrome speaker rings on the M70 really nicely.

It would be the answer to fixing those hideous messed up 777 front panels, someone
please find a way!
That looks tight......Were you able to separate the grills from the case, or did you have to tape them off?

TA, they were super glued i used a thin flat screw driver to pry them off. have to do it very carefully not to stub your self or damage the grills.

NOT NICE!!!!! But, hey you know it is true.....

Eddy just have a look on the net for a graphic painter and he can reproduce the writings for you.... I had one in France that did that. You, fur sure have to have a few guys who have a shop around you.... or any where in the world!
Thanks for the tip , Brian
......
Hey Hugo, how did you tape off the top of the radio? I might do this with one of mine as well!
hey James here the last 3 pic.
check the top!! i didnt want to erase all the writting so i taped part of that covering all the writting, what you guys think?

well Ford93, up close is not that perfect but you can use the BLUE painters tape its best.
I like the last 3 pics - looks really good!
Can you get the plastic part of the handle black too? That would be slammin'!
WOW, great mod!
The RC-M70 looks cool in black! I bet if some old guys from JVC are viewing this thread, they'll be thinking 'Why didn't
we think of that?'
thanks for the extra pix Hugo! I might try this as well!
