Ok guys.After a long time of no purchases for my collection i finally got a chance on a decent deal.

A Sharp 5P-37G is offered to me at the nice price of 50€.

It's the nice looking Sharp-TV-Box and until now the only thing on the forum i could find about this one was a scan for the jap. domestic version:



Now my question is if anybody on here owns one of these and can tell about their build-quality, sound and quality of the TV.

I guess 50€ is no bad deal on these either way

50€ for a box of any kind is not bad at all.And the fact that this is my favourite TV-Box in looks made me buy it.

But i just can't find any detailed info on it

I already bought it.

Can you recommend their sound?Eg well balanced, good bass, good highs or anything like that?
As to the TV..how's the quality of the picture?

sound is fine , clear , not overly bassy , but great all the same , picture is great for black and white , all round winner, its big heavy , and looks awesome . . .

As far as i know it does have some problems with the static and may need a new belt.The guy selling it is an old repairguy and he told me that he knows this unit quite well.He stated that some contact-cleaner and a new belt would make it almost new

One fact tough..from the first pictures i saw i can tell that the SHARP-Logo is/was rubbed off..I may create a own one and respray it!

The guy sent it out today.I hope it arrives by the weekend so that i can finally work on a box again..you know, open it, clean it, get some contact-cleaner in..and then just enjoying the new addition.
