Boo-yah! My new C-100FF.
Scored for AU$600 (about US$390) She's missing the deck door, spare tape tray and some other little bits of damage to the backs of the feet, but apart from that the cosmetics are very nice and clean.
Internally both decks work perfectly, but she needs a new HA 1392 amp chip, so I've got two ordered and will replace both.
Now for some sleuthing!
This was sold to a buyer in Sydney .au from u.s ebay at some stage (I bought it from them). It sold for US$1100 (plus another US$500 postage). When I took the back off it looked an amp chip had been replaced at some stage, and the box was filled with something like plush toy stuffing. I'd imagine in an attempt to sort out the rattles, which would've worked great, until it become caught on the tuner wheel and jammed it up, but all fixed now.
So, who's owned this one on here before me? She HAS to have some s2go history beyond me, surely.
Rock On.
GO GO GLUE !!!!
Those boxes have so much presence. WTG mate!!
WICKED! Congrats on the new family member

don"t you think that merely using the word "nice" is grossly understating the significance of your new arrival?
Congrats Glue she's a beauty and I noticed you have a rare Maxell Epitaxial Extra Fine XL II tape there cool!

welcome to the conion club!
On behalf of gsbadbmr, who has more Conions than a Conion factory
, and myself (owner of three: Conion, Nippon & Clairtone), welcome to the Big C owners association, and all the bragging rights that go with it. To begin, why not call a friend or family member and start bragging right now? It feels good!!
Congratties!

Boo-Yah is an understatement! That's a nice looking C-100 you have there - even if it is missing some pieces.
A big beauty!

great score
still got to get me one of those
Looks nice... I hope things sort out for you.
I will probably be selling my C100 and a few other boxes... I have too many.
Those are nice in silver!!!!!!!
Nice score!!!!
Too bad for the door......
I seriously need to try my hand at making copies of plastic pieces - if nothing more than for doors and trays for the C-100.
Thanks for all the lovely words Brothers.
I'm not too concerned about the missing deck door currently as I love the history of how these radios were used. To me it shows it's street cred and is a reminder of where it's been. The tape tray I'd really like to replace though, or custom hack something into that space.
Ford93: haha thanks for noticing the tape! I went through about 10 trying to find one that 'went' with the Conion's design. One of the bonuses of having no door is it shows off the tape itself better. That maxell came in a large lot I picked up a while back, it's a studio recording tape from Abbey Road. Nice cover too.
Well I'm certainly loving this radio, even with the screwy left channel, it still is 50 times louder than anything else in the collection. And it sounds a lot more balanced than I thought it would. I got lured into thinking the over the top design was a cover to some average internal components, but it looks feels and sounds super high quality. Not what I was expecting at all, and a marvellous surprise. Maybe I'd been listening to Rimmer complain about the sound on his too much!
Anyway, super happy I've got one now and will be over the moon when the replacement chips arrive.
Thanks again Brothers, I wouldn't have been able to get one without all of you.
Rock On.
Dude!
I believe that to be my old Conion!
I sold it to Australia... and the rest of the story matches up! As does the internal foam padding, which was to help improve sound. The missing cassette door, and tray as well.
It has new belts, and was totally overhauled by my local repair guru.
Are any of the feet chipped?
You got $1100 US plus $500 postage for a C100F that was missing the cassette door and tray?????
Congrats! And you have $710.00 left to get the spare parts to make her a $1000 Conion!
Haha! I knew someone here would've owned it. Good to know she's been taken care of JLF. Shame about the amp chips.. but hey, I love having work to do on my radios. I'll fix up the little bit of damage to the bottom side of the casing, but I'll leave the feet that are broken at the back.. repairing them would mean fully replacing the discs.
OldSkool: You sure that $710 is enough for a deck door AND a tape tray? ... maybe without shipping.
Rock On.
