It is an excellent, quality designed and built bbx, three-way speakers (acoustic suspension type), four-band eq, 15w + 15w amplifier, four band tuner (fm, mw, sw1, sw2), phono, line in, line out, CrO2/metal/normal tape selector, noise reduction, soft touch tape controls, soft-eject, 30 led centre-out vu meters,4 function leds, one tuner-pointer led, 8 D-cell, front mount headphone and mic jacks, multi position bc switch, ground post.
Very powerful, with clean, clear sound...excellent bass. Cranks without distorting, a great feature if used in a noisy location. Heavy weight, and classy cabinet finish.
I have the Mona MS3030 version. Highly recommended.

I do, and IMO, it sounds like a turd.....very little bass response, and dismal highs. The eq is a joke....again IMO.
kitt - did i actually see it at your house ??
we were in such a big hurry that day --
i forgot !!
the main unit looks great. lots of functions.
some jvc styling cues going on with this boombox ala pc55 i think.
I just pulled mine off the rack and plugged it in at (10:36pm Sunday night)...the wife started yelling at me...it's definately loud and powerful

looks like plenty of interest --so here is the ebay listing---
i just get shakey about these ebay shoe sellers -

prefer to get ripped by a member --who KNOWS whats up

Had the Rising too..great looker in my books.
But i agree on the sound..not that impressed, but still okay
Sold mine to a friend and he is very satisfied..still tells me everytime i see him that it is his favourite box period!!
If it goes for a decent price i'd say you can't go wrong with it Ira.
It's amazing how everyone has a different opinion on this boombox. My Citizen is in "so-so" condition with the speaker wires spliced and taped together, yet the sound from it is just incredible with big bass
I have many "duplicates" of boomboxes in my collection and i have tested them several times against each other for sound comparison...and quite often there is usually a couple that end up being "better sounding" than the others.
Maybe some of these boxes were more "used/worn out" than others...who knows

No kidding
We have to admit that with our MEGA cold winters...our brains are somewhat "frozen" during these cold months

Well I'm dead center! You know, the one looking up trying to figure out how I got from 'Bama to this frozen a$$ place!
jaredscottfla - 2008-12-08 22:10
i saw it yesterday,i figured someone would start a thread on it. pretty cool imho.
Seller does not have ship listed so that gives some pause, but i think it's worth a shot.
peter.griffin - 2008-12-09 08:01
just in case any member was standing back on this nice box --i am 100% OUT -
-not that i know anything not good about this --

Jow
I had this bbox, just with a other lable on it (Rising) - this one:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName...IT&item=300280243869Looks cool, sound is ok - nothing special ...
Best wishes
Tom
WOW Ira u will be very happy with the Sanyo C9, Is similar to the Yamaha PC-9. U will like the bass sound on this one
.
hope so miguel --i think the amp says 80 watts !!
i forgot what my (yours now)
yamaha had for the rating ??--but i sure remember the huge power
Same power 80 watts as well, Defeanetly u will be happy. Let us know when u get it, And post some pics
.
Nope, C-7 does not have the same power. The Yamaha PC-9 is like the Sanyo C-7 which is less powerful. Still has plenty of kick though. 80w on the C9 is the power consumption. I need to put mine on the test bench since I forgot what my RMS reading was for output.
Concerning the Citizen,I have a Techsonic with the same driver layout. It looks to be basically the same box with cosmetic and some functional differences. It definitely fits the description of "blaster"!Mine is very loud with a raunchy sound that's sure to impress even outdoors.Though the bass is good, there's too many mids and highs for a balanced sound with some types of music.Even running its midrange slider all the way down won't quite tame this brightness enough.Even so I have fond memories of boxes with this type of sound even if I don't always find them listenable.I tend to think it would sound more balanced with dirty tape heads.
