only wish we had better words to describe awesomeness and wonderfullness --
and wish that next time even more great s2g folks could enjoy this spectacular party -
it was a better memory than an extra inning 7th game at any world series (imho)
----we had the very best of music and boxes and comfort and food --
but even much better than all that -
was US --
thanks to all you great friends
Wish I could have made it too!
I had a blast, so here's one pic. of Freddie doing his dope pose:
Fatdog having a date with a blow up box, check out the set of woofers on her:

I would like to thank (ahardb0dy) for setting up the recreational room and your wife for such a fantastic meal. All members truly I'am pleased to have met such a wonderful bunch. Man we've got to do this next year and maybe invite the one who started this site Mr. Jens from Bavaria, man if we have to we'll pay for his flight!!
Just want to say the first Orlando meet was a huge sucess, everyone had a great time, so many boxes,37, and I believe only 2 duplicates, if we plan one for next year, the clubhouse will still be a available, hopefully we can get more members to come and maybe that 2nd whole pan of baked ziti my WIFE made will be eaten, ( now I'll have to finish it myself over the next week!!, LOL), anyway I was glad to meet everyone, wonderful people, lots of knowledge, great time.
p.s. Sorry I'm writing this so late, after last nights posts and falling into bed at 2a.m. I just woke up 1/2 hour ago!.
tony --tell your wife that her cooking was so good --that i dont ever want to lose that great taste --so i havent even brushed my teeth since
cant wait till next year --wish it was tomorrow
It does seem you did have a great time also!

BACK ON TOPIC!
if you want to have another florida meet sometime, and want to hold it in the same place, give me advance notice and we will reserve the clubhouse, it's not a problem. more than glad to see everyone and the few that couldn't make it again. Linda said next time she will make more variety of food and make it like a buffet.
Looks like a great time was had by all wish I were a bit closer, I would of definitely came
Ok So I know who a few of the guys are through other pics earlier in the year but who all made it out ? 37 boxes is a HUGE gathering ! Nice work fellas
MAN I WAS WAY OFF ! LOL
Cool pics guys and thanks for clearing that up for me Hardbody
ps: Is your online handle in reference to a minitruck you own ?
Pleased to finally meet ya all way to go guys n galls
For the curious about the 37 boxes we had my wife said to mention that 15 was what I bought...
(Tony took these shots of what Bobby and I had in my truck.)
and I came back with 17!!! Her response was "Explain to me again how this happened?"
Of course Bobby's wife instructed me that he came with three and must only come home with three. I ignored that too!
It was awsome I enjoyed everyone and Bobby (Fatdog) is my official road dog. Tony is the man for hosting the event. I wish more could have been there. I will be posting a video and pics myself soon so stay alert! And if you like comedy roasts...be prepared!
All i would like to know is who the 880 belonged to was it ira's?.
That belongs to Tony (aHardbody). And he has all original papers including warranty registration card!

Amazing photos thanks for sharing them, which was the best sounding unit in the house.?
Oh, man! This entire experience was a total blast (pun intended)! It was like finally getting to meet your long-lost brothers. There were none of the "awkward" moments that usually happen when people meet for the first time - we already knew so much about each other that we were practically family before we ever met.
It was great to finally put some faces to the S2G handles and, of course, meet the legendary RedBenJoe (aka Ira)!
I think we're already planning for the 2nd Annual Sunshine Mix for next year.
In total, we had 37 boomboxes represented. The list is:
- Aiwa CS-880
- Conion C-100F
- Delmon TR-910
- Fisher PH-460
- Fisher PH-480
- General Electric 5239A
- Hitachi TRK-8180E
- JVC PC-3
- JVC PC-55
- JVC PC-R11JW
- JVC RC-M70
- JVC RC-M90 (x 2)
- JVC RV-DP100
- JVC RV-NB10W
- National RX-C100
- Panasonic RX-5600L
- Panasonic RX-C300
- Panasonic RX-C50
- Panasonic RX-DT680
- Philips D8634
- Realistic SCR-8
- Rising SRC-2015 (x 2)
- Sansui CP5
- Sansui CP7
- Sansui CP99W
- Sansui FX-700R
- Sanyo C9
- Sanyo M9990
- Sharp GF-777Z
- Sharp GF-9191HB
- Sharp GF-9494X
- Sony FH-5
- Telefunken CC-9000
- Toshiba WX-1
- Classic Cicena The Bel-Air Box
My uncle Tommy shows off his huge boombox
Freddie and I arrive at the clubhouse
Here come Tony, Ira, and Ramon (Ira's showing his ass already!)
Freddie reveals the stash of boomboxes while Ramon looks on in amazement!
Ira checks out the stash
Ira shows off his cool boombox belt buckle (thank goodness his "antenna" wasn't extended)
Checking out the sounds of the GF-777Z
A small exhibit of sealed cassettes, free clings, and boombox tote bags
The small, but powerful, Sansui FX-700R
Tony's all-original Aiwa CS-880 with papers
Powerhouse Row
I finally get to see an M90 in person!
Frank gets ready to mix
The Numark iDJ
Juan (Ford93) and John (JT) arrive
What it's all about
Juan gets his M90 ready
We even had Kabooms!
Check out the drum machine / SFX pads
Frank shows off his mixing skills
Some VU action
All of these boxes (Conion C-100, Toshiba WX-1, JVC RC-M90, and later one of the Kabooms) were pumping out the same song lined out from the mixer. Man, talk about shaking the house!!
Frank's and Bobby's Rising SRC-2015 (Frank's has the blue LED dial lights)
Tara models with the Sharp GF-777Z. Unfortunately, Frank wedged himself between the two.
Ira takes a breather; the excitement is too much for even the legend among us.
John enjoys a cool beverage after suffering the heat and humidity of the outdoors
Ira rambles on about something - you know how people become when they get old
You gotta have a group shot (L-R: Ramon, Ira, Tony, John, Frank, Tara, Freddie, Bobby, Juan)
Freddie delivers the sermon for the day
I'm glad that everyone had a safe trip to and from the Sunshine Mix and I hope we can all do it again next year to show off even more boxes!!
Bobby

AMAZING!
What a great meeting!!great indeed to finally put faces to the name, a great experience!
I hope an iternational meeting will be possible sometime too, that would be the ultimate blast!
That looks even more fun than the Bavaria meet!
Some incredible boxes there! I would sure like to see, and hear the M90 and Conion in person!
Thanks for shairing amazing picks and videos almost brought me to tears knowing i will never meet any of you or anybody from this forum.
Wowowowowowow is all I can say, really, that does indeed bring a warm feeling to the heart and a huge grin to the face. May all of us continue on with our meetings, our love and respect for this great hobby and for one another.
Damn you guys are all great, thanks for sharing.

Oh don't be too sure of that, rimmer. For all you know, someone could set up a meet here in the UK, and both of us could end up meeting, and meeting royal(R), geoffhartwell and maybe other people in the UK too. You never know. Give it time...
Re; [There were none of the "awkward" moments that usually happen when people meet for the first time - we already knew so much] There is no better way to say it
That how we roll here on S2G. and to think, these meeting will get bigger and better as we go along. I'm down for travelling much farther to meet next time. Let's see who will have to rent a U-Haul van to bring all their boxes. Superb job guys. Great to put faces to names/avatars.
hey tim - not to worry --the next UK meeting will be at YOUR house --and you KNOW that you guys can arrange it --
and bring walkgirl
freddie was impressed with my 880 with the original papers and all but when I told him the speakers were all original ( no replacement surrounds) he was really impressed. Great time, great people, Linda ( my wife juan, LOL), says the next meet should be around Febuary, someone mentioned x-mas but that would be a problem for people having to travel around holiday time. Like I said earlier, we have the place just set up the date.

My friend, impressed is an understatement!
Hey Frank your wife Tara is getting much props from the guys. It was great to see the wives of some of the members giving support to their other half crazy hobby!
