dont know if this has been done before, as we all know funding this crazzy addiction can be expensive and im sure in some cases your partner(wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend) might get annoyed with the amount of moneys that you spend on boomboxes. so how do you fund this habit. Me, well i buy all sorts cheap from car boot sale/ garage sales and sell on ebay hopefully for a profit, and what ever goes into my paypal thats what i will spend on boomboxes
I fund it out of my paycheck or more than that sometimes, & repaying the fund takes time.
I'm fortunate enough to make over 6 digits a year.....its a fraction of what I spend, and I haven't bought anything as of late......
firstly , the misses is awesome, she would not dream of moaning at me for boombox purchases . .
I always go hunting, half my collection is from that , I do also sell the boxes I don't want , to buy boxes I do want , but that has not happened for a long time (all work no play) . . .
Sadly I've had no good finds for ages , and pass up loads of boxes for being distinctly average . .

Thrift Stores... Thrift Stores.... Thrift Stores....
I do save some money every month, especially for
a walkman or miniboombox!
Like i wrote before somewhere.....
I'm a beggar at the trainstation and i have to begg really hard to get some do .
It takes me quite an while before i can buy some boxes
I usually fund my "addiction" by buying boomboxes and fixing them up and cleaning them, then if I don't really like it or it has sat around a long time without being used I sell or try to trade the to other members here. If nobody wants a particular model I watch Ebay and see what it is worth on there and see how much $$$$ I have into it and try to figure a fair price to ask for it. Then I check Ebay to see if there are any I like and can afford and I also check Goodwill and St.Vinnies for fixerupers or bargains. I have a couple I don't know if I could sell, but then again I didn't think I would sell my Aiwa CS880,and I sold that one to Rimmer. I guess everything I have is for sale for the right price.

Me too but with a house full of kids I have to watch what I spend. I've pretty much gotten my collection where I want it now so I focus on thrifts more and ebay less and pick and choose carefully to make sure I'll be happy with it.
