But it is good for me!!!!!!
There was a M70 user's manual on the US bay at a $9.99 US minimum price bid start and only 7 hours to go when I decided to put $20 on it.... Next morning I see that I won the bid for $9.99....... Where was everyone at??????? No one wanted this manual??????? Cool!!!!!!!
But now, the person wants $34 US for shipping...
...... It should cost about $5 to mail it to europe as normal mail, right?
Could some one check for me how much it costs via regular stamped mail to Ireland, Thanks!
Would the seller be "katiesgrandmom" on eBay? If you select Ireland from the dropdown list and then update the shipping charges, it does indeed show $34 USD. I'm guessing you didn't see that?
Be that as it may, the cost for Priority Shipping is only $24 USD to ship 16oz. / 455.52g. I know that the manual wouldn't weight that much (or would it?). Ask the seller to ship the manual First-Class MailĀ® International. It will require an actual trip to post office for her. PayPal does not give you the option of First Class on international postage, so she's definitely using PayPal to print the shipping labels.
First-Class Mail to Ireland (455g / 16oz) is approximately $10 USD.
Good luck, Brian!
Ahhh, okay...... Never used or needd to use nor has any one used the PayPal shipping thing with me. It has always been via the good old country's postal service -America or Europe.
I will have to get with this person for $34 US is way to high for an envelope!!!!!

If it's the one I saw, and I think there is another one up by the same seller now, it is a copy and not the original manual.
I sent a reques of cancelation.... the person said YES! Cool...
Some ebayers are alright!
really glad you got out of it , bredgeo -

Ehhh..... What everrrrrr........
I had good dealings with katiesgrandmom recently. As for bidding on manuals,I would rather have it in PDF form unless I could get one really cheaply.Just the information in it is all I really would want.Manuals are not usually that nice anyway. It would be preferrrable if every manual for everything new and old was available in virtual form.Though i don't have any original boombox manuals,I would gladly scan one for a collector if I did. That said,I suppose $9.99 wouldn't have been a bad price for an original if shipping would have made it a practical purchase. If you sold a box, that would add greatly to its resale value.
I also don't understand someone wanting the original box an item came in also. They usually have an uninspired design to their graphics.Even if it cost nothing extra,it would just be a hassle trying to find a place to store it.Storing a box in it's original packing would would defeat your purpose for even buying it.Not only is it inaccessible for use,you also can't appreciate its looks when not actually using it.
Manuals, boxes, original styrofoam and plastic.....I don't want to put up with that kind of clutter. Also I'm getting too old to leave things packed away.I want to enjoy what I have in life.I suppose my main point is that I just don't understand why these kinds of things add value typically for many people on a personal level. That is the reason why having this stuff makes for a good investment in the first place.Sorry,I'm wandering off topic here
You're cool Jovie....
And I agree with the "Boombox in a box" thing, where is the pleasure? BUT yet do understand the pleasure that one can get if that is one's pleasure!
wow --

Oh I can beat that.
I know someone who's bought a soughtafter b-box, sealed in it's original packaging & hasn't ever taken it out. Not even broken the seal for a look & has gone as far as having it x-rayed to ensure the correct b-box is actually in there.
...you know who you are (if you still visit s2g)
My apologies, I'm being antagonistic, of course.
I know it's an investment, etc. but I can't help thinking it's a bit of a waste...
Though I respect everyones reasoning for what they do as personal, that just seems like NO JOY to me Iso42.If it's purely an investment, there are plenty of other non tangible ways of making money on money. Why even have such a thing sitting around?
I totally do not get this whole topic!
well - its about lots of topics
but --its most important that we determine whether or not bredgeo is a profound member ??

Collecting boxes (or boxes in boxes) to make money seems silly and highly risky to me. Yes it can be done and is done often I'm sure but still risky and a lot of work. Buying boxes seems like it's really mostly for personal enjoyment, if you make a few bucks in the process great but it's a stretch to call it any kind of investment.
