Rather like
Ewen,I've been over to Reading again. Just a flying visit this time, following on from
this post.
No, it's not perfect, but for £80 I was expecting it to be a bit of a project.
It has a list of issues (which I've
posted about in the Tech section), but there was no other way I was going to get hold of one of these:
Lucky old me, pacwestuk then threw in another boombox I've also hankered after; a Hitachi TRK8200 - free, gratis & for nothing. It has marks from a carelessly placed soldering iron on the front/top - otherwise it's 100%, fully working.
Here's some eye candy:
I also picked up a 3D80 EQ board for new s2g member, j fraser. I've posted it on to him & encouraged him to post pics of the restoration:

Congratulations on the great pick ups Iso! Lots of 777 resources on S2Go, I think there are how-to's for most problems so you should get her up to 100% pretty easily. I think it's a marvellous radio and a real classic, theres some odd mystique to it's design in how it can be so over-the-top yet so refined in features. It's always the one everyone who comes over to my place says is their favourite when they see my collection.
Lovely Hitachi too.. I think I need one of those to compliment my TRK-8610.
Good luck hombre
Rock On.
Nice one Isolator. I saw it sitting there and thought it'd be snapped up pretty swiftly. Good luck with your fixes - and actually I think it looks great with the speaker covers missing.
We may not have Craigslist here, but we do have pacwestuk !!!
