THANKS ALOT . lit --
from your description in the other thread --i had envisioned that the big grill on the japan 88 would look light, bright silver --
instead -- at least in those photos -- it looks like pretty dark grey --?
have you (or anybody) ever seen one in person ?
maybe the grill is silver - in the 'real'
anyhow - i can see that the tuner dial is very light --looks cool --
btw -- my own 880 actually is light silver -
looks a bit 'different'
-- to say the least --
will add the picture tonight
yep ,seen a few in person , grill is dark grey, behind the gril is dark grey/black, siver tuner display . .
tiz nice
ok rich and ben-
or anybody who may possibly care ?
sorry about the low rez shot -- my old digital camera has no flash --and was built years before the 'meg' days --
in fact its a tad below 1/3 meg
anyhow --this is my real 'personal fav' :
880 with a painted silver grill.
not expecting lots of $$ offers
--
or awards --
but this is about what i had hoped the japan 88 looked like --
and -- if so - mine would be in the league of 'authentic'
love it !!
Here is an Aiwa brochure page from 1981 and the CS880 has a silver face. The CS880 in 1982 has a blue face.
The J-88 has a extra knob and socket for the mix mic input level also.
thanks skippy --
i guess they never made any model with a light silver front grill ??
so mine is the only one
