Well Nov - Mar are nice in FL...the rest of the time its so hot you'll leave your ass on the carseat and the trees' fight over the dogs.

Much maligned and under appreciated, but truly a feat of miniturazation in 1978 or so, this little beauty TPR-920 is an early ebay buy from Javier (had pics on the museum site very early on)...and one of my most liked...its a mini grail for me.

An idea of its quality? The carry handle "clicks" into place....

litfan - 2008-11-22 06:25

Yep. I like it. Did you get that "waltham" cd yet ed?

peter.griffin - 2008-11-24 05:16

litfan - 2008-11-24 07:18

Big Grin. That`s me peter. The 500 does`nt sound that spectacular. With DSL on those little speakers thump.

Rock On.

litfan - 2008-11-26 14:05

Smile. no probs rick. It`s the toshiba rt-s90.

gluecifer - 2008-11-26 22:07

Thanks Rich,.. she's an incredible specimen, added to my "Must Have" list. Seems high end Toshiba's are scant in .au, looks like I'll be importing one of those along with an S93 at some stage.

Back on the thread's topic, here's my X620K in her natural environment at work:

I do one on one computer help at the local community centre and now record all the sessions to cassette so the person can go home and listen to the instruction for the week on their own stereos. Most of my clients are over 60 and still have working cassette decks and its much easier for them to use a tape than try anything digital most of the time. Nothing beats cassette for pausing/resuming and it saves them taking notes. Plus makes great use of my radios, outside of home use.

Rock On.

enskanker - 2008-11-27 03:44

Nice pic Rick and nice setup...

Of course Litfan is the Member who deals in only the finest high end units.

Lit's stuff is the Ed Sullivan Show of Boomboxes.

Another classic thread.

Thought I'd open this up again for some of your additions.

Another classic thread.

has been neglected since 2008 ?

ao - 2012-03-20 06:13

Mr Vu, many threads were closed when the site made the transition to it's new format.

So, to remind you all what this thread was all about....

Post a pic of your favourite box in it's favourate place, maybe a kitchen box on it's trusty shelf or a garage queen on a tool shelf, you know the kind of thing.

So, this isn't a post a pic of any old boombox thread.  Take a look at page 1 of the post to see legendary forum member TPR's classic TPR-950 at home where it belongs.

I have a regular PhotoBucket account. Will that work and if so which link to i copy and paste here?

Thanks so much

That WILCO is a beauty bison! I often seen those in other people's collections and wondered what they were. What's the model number and dimensions in inches?

I've wanted one of them GF787 since records began Ira,just cant get one because they were only sold in japan,so buying one and having it shipped would be expensive..

Oh and i agree Agent,This was a great thead, excellent idea to wake it up..

ghettoman - 2012-03-20 09:48

wow just been looking at the old posts from 08,most of them members dont come here anymore lol..

redbenjoe - 2012-03-20 09:50

thats right BM --it was japan only -

i bought it from a member here who was living in japan -

he sold it to me for only about US$100 -

but then the freight was an additional $150 !!

ghettoman - 2012-03-20 10:05

yes buying from japan and having it shipped to uk is a killer, its about £150+ just for shipping, then about £40-£50 for import duty, thats before actually buying it and paying middle man fees..not financially worth it in the end..its a real shame, because i like them alot..

thanks chris,the model is a CRS 1048L

its 21 by 12 inches,

ive seen a few variants since i got it.

chris69 - 2012-03-20 10:37

I love the look. It's looks sophisticated with all the buttons and screams "class". Never see those in Canada but i think on ebay germany i've seen some or in the UK.

Well I'm thinking at the moment I love the BIGBEN!

But then I'm also thinking I've got plenty of loving for the Toshiba RT-S932

ao - 2012-03-20 12:58

Guys, this thread should be more about the location of the box rather than just the box.
