My newest Aiwa

aza - 2008-11-18 03:27

Took a chance on an obscure listing in the for sale section of the paper.
"6 old radios for sale"

so i rang the guy up and it turned out he had "5" old radios, and this .....

It is in beautiful condition and fully working, im really enjoying this one !
The only downside is that just one selector button is missing so i will be posting in the wanted section for that

monolithic - 2008-11-18 03:36

I Agree Cool

viennasound - 2008-11-18 03:40

Beautiful!
Does it sound so great it looks? Smile
AIWA normally has very good quality.

ao - 2008-11-18 03:46

Nice grab. It's just a shame that this was Aiwa's attempt at 'modernising' the wonderfull TPR-950.

aza - 2008-11-18 03:51

Thanks guys.

ViennaSound, i think it sounds nice but it is no boomer, but everything works so nicely that it completely makes up for that.

Congrats AZA. Smile

fatdog - 2008-11-18 06:34

I Agree

litfan - 2008-11-18 07:25

TPR-945?

gluecifer - 2008-11-18 07:41

Beautiful looking radio AZA, a hot find indeed! Good to see she's all working, I imagine the belt change on her is probably as diabolical as the TPR-950.

Rock On.

masterblaster84 - 2008-11-18 08:11

Nice find AZA, Aiwa made some great looking boxes and this is one of them. Nod Yes

You never know where your going to find them. Smile

r.o.y.a.l - 2008-11-18 08:15

nice catch , congrats Smile

daiwa - 2008-11-18 08:41

Nice clean lines - great pick up AZA!
Way newer looking than the classic, original TPR series. My little TPR 920 is surprisingly heavy and solid. I imagine your new pick-up has that warm Aiwa sound... Wink

HoW abOUt tHe OthEr 4 ?

billpc55 - 2008-11-18 08:48

thats a beautiful machine man.

bogdan - 2008-11-18 12:45

Congrats! It's a TPR 945.I know very well this model.Sounds great and it can be compared with the TPR 950/955.It works at 12volts dc.The belts replacement it is not that dificult if you know a few trics.I did it succesfuly but don't remember the details. When I did the same job on the TPR 955 it seemed to me way difficult .The woofers are 12cm(10 inches?) but sound it's allmost the same quality with the TPR 950-very good bass and highs.
This one of yours is in a very good condition and looks great.
This model was't ment to replace or modernise the TPR 950/955,they were produced at the same time.

oldskool69 - 2008-11-18 16:40
