Boomboxes with integrated turntables?!?!

OK, I was cleaning out my closet and come across my old LP’s. I was thinking of adding a turntable to the collection and just plugging it into the “Phono” jack so I could listen to them, but then I thought; why not get a boombox with a turntable built into it! I have searched some threads on here, PM’d a few people (waiting to hear back). Then I thought I’d just ask the masses.

Are there any useable Boombox/Turntable Blasters out there that are any good? Sound quality is a must, if the records play back sounding like garbage I know I’ll never listen to them. But if I find a player that really works and sounds good I’d like to look into buying some new (old) records.

Many might be asking “why in the heck would someone be going back to records?”

Well, I’ll be straight with you, I was at a friend’s place who is a DJ and he has some decently priced Technics Turntables that have so much fidelity that I was blown away. I totally forgot how great vinyl sounds! Nothing hit’s the low frequencies like vinyl!

Plus; I have had all I can take with MP3’s and the crappy quality. I am a professional musician and we put literally a 1,000 hours into mixing and mastering only to have it smashed into 10% of its original quality. MP3’s BLOW and I’m sick of this being the “New Standard”.

When I listen to my tape collection even verses CD’s I know for sure that tapes are better than CD’s. I know CD’s don’t have “Tape Hiss”, but CD’s also don’t have the frequency response that tapes and LP’s have. In the end IMO, Digital blows. I recorded in New York a few years ago with Grammy award winning producer John Seymour (Santana, U2, Bio Hazard) and we recorded fully digital, then ran the tracks to a reel to reel and then back to digital to warm them up. The end product was clean, warm and creamy as opposed to cold and stale.

So, what Turntable Boomboxes ROCK?

the sharp vz 2000 or 2500 are good boxes with turntables.

i think jvc made one as well. dc 33 or something lke that

Yes they did.... I have them both.

I have a DC33L. I love it,even though the bass could be better. I 'm sure it would sound better with upgraded woofers.

DC33 is good, but the speakers on that model really hold it back from being a fantastic sounding box.


Avoid the Panasonic turntable models, they are all subpar in the sound department.

The DC7 is one heavy unit. I wonder what one is heavier,, the DC7 or the V2000? I cannot imagine every carrying one around that is for sure!
