Anyone know any good boombox stores or flea markets? Will be flying to New York on Tuesday (tomorrow!) and will be heading north around Long Island. Will be heading to New York city also sometime, so would be great to meet anyone who may be in the area. If you wanna meet up, PM me and I can send you my email address.
Will be around for 2 weeks.
Would be fantastic to meet some more stereo2goers from across the pond!!
I could happily jet off to NY right now, believe me. Just a small question of paying for it! (As I can barely afford to turn a light on at the moment!)
beatbox we could meet sometime this weekend I'm from Manhattan I'm off on weekends perhaps this Saturday or Sunday let me know it will be a blast
Hey Now that sounds like a blast . Any info about some locations on long island or in Nyc would be great , I was born and raised in Valley stream . Oh i miss it

OH man where were you exactly 2 years ago???? Well i was at Bleeker st records buying overpriced vinyl.....
If you lookingor hip hop vinyl go to Turntable Lab, or Fat Beats. Google them and you will find. Fat Beats is like 6th Ave, and 4th street. Small upstairs joint. Might see a underground or commercial rapper in the store just chillen.
Bleeker is expensive partly because it was featured in Seinfeld episodes. So they tend to jack it up a little. What are you looking for exactly?

Sorry dude I was there 2 years ago almost to the day.Wish I had youre advice on other shops back then.. Man I loved New York. Gonna get back as soon as humanly possible.Got an old buddy livn in brooklyn so got a reason to visit. However certainly found good vinyl by the time I reached Frisco in the form of Amoeba Music
I used to buy my records at Downtown records between 35 st. and 36 st. at 7 ave. which is still there also at Vynilmania at Carmine street.
Well, thanks for the replies guys. I'm currently in Kinderkook, way upstate and not sure whats going on. Playing it all very much by ear. I'll be heading back to the north fork on long island and will be hopefully having a day in New York city sometime this coming week.
Thanks for the suggestions on record stores. Has anybody been to the Wordsound studios at all?
Electic Lady Studios is still functioning. Ring the bell and try to get in. 8th street off of 6th ave. If you peer in the glass from the door off the street you can see a picture of Jimi etched in glass on the glass that leads you down some stairs.
Concrete benches on Mercer off of 3rd Street, you can drink a beer in public no one will bother you. If you see Drels, and ill don tagged on the bench you are in the right place.
Thats my ghetto drink a beer in public spot. (Peep the NYU girls while you sit there)
