The Yamanote Line (山手線, Yamanote-sen?) of East Japan Railway Company (JR East) is one of Tokyo's busiest and most important commuter lines. Thanks, Jens. I do remember him (Good guy!) - just didnt' make the connection fast enough. I do know about the train line, though, and "recognized" the pic; that's why I thought someone might be traveling.

Wonder if he is lurking, and will re-appear?...

Yamanote is me! When our family signed up for a new ISP in February '07, I used the opportunity to change my S2G name. I was tired of being a train and liked the double meaning of "baby boomer." (Yes, I'm one of those post WWII kids!)

I'm not from Japan (I was born in Chicago and live in Detroit), but I've been to Tokyo a few times on vacation. The Yamanote Line, as Jens has said, is the commuter train line that circles midtown Tokyo. (I like Jens' photo lots better than mine!)

With so many members choosing new avatars lately, I figured it was time to get rid of the toddler with the Little Tikes boombox (a baby and his boomer) and pick something else. Naturally, I thought Japanese. And I was hoping DecentMan4You (James, are you reading this??) would notice how similar my new avatar is to his. We have bus driving in common. He does it; I did it.

Damn straight I'm a good guy!

For a while, I considered this avatar, but I decided against it because it just wasn't "me." I'm more of the three-Japanese-bus-hostesses-in-snappy-uniforms type. I mean, whose bus would you rather ride on??
