Hiya. I remember seeing this boombox on the forum. After snooping around, digging up old threads, i finally gave up. So please tell me what this Panasonic model is called!
I just love this:
I believe this is the RX-A2 (nee RX-6400).
That's the one! Thanksy very much!
that is the ONLY box that is as heavy as the aiwa compo --
and it is conservatively rated as the worlds best sounding box !!!!!!1
Worlds best sounding suitcase set.....
Costs quite a bit. The dude selling it lives in the city i regularly commute to, cant decide if i should buy it or not! It's in flawless shape and everything.
sounds like an awesome deal ---cuz,
its worth twice as much as "quite a bit"
I was snooping around a bit, seem to go for about 300 $? If i'm buying this box, i sure hope i get something for my money!
ok --need some more convincing ??
it WIPES a Kaboom in clean bass --
and it makes effortless power !!!!!!!!!!!
and -- now, you are on your own
good luck
its looks awesome. you know i would like to give it a go with one of the big sonys i have posted here over the last couple of days.
both of them decimate my kabooms.
i can honestly say the sonys i have at half volume pretty much own ever boom box i have here. it would be interesting to see how they compared to that beautiful panasonic.
bill -
that would be interesting --i have never heard those big sonys.
the panny is not a 'legit' boombox--
its more of a commercial/auditorium sound system
so , i predict it will blow all your sonys away !!
maybe -another member will read this thread and tell us
hmmm how many watts is it ira.
the sony is 30 watts rms per side, and wieghs about forty pounds. that panasonic is for sure a wicked piece of kit.
i am betting that it would be a pretty fun sound off.
some of us need to get db meters like they had at radioshack up here before they went out of business so we can measure how loud stuff is.
i think that if you heard one of those sonys your jaw would drop.
when i got mine i tuned it on and turned it up. sounded pretty nice. then i noticed the mute button was pressed in.
i pressed it and was nearly blown across the room. hahah
i thought there was something wrong with it beacause it was so loud.
i have two of them so i tried the other and it was just as loud.
i have a nice big keyboard amp with a fifteen inch woofer and nice horn on it.
the sony falls just a little shy of it.
that panasonic is amazing tho.
i should make another video of the sony at volume sometime soon.
bill -- i think the panny is 95 watts !!!!!!!
its too big and heavy for my home --so i cant check that for certain right now --
but --its all clean power --and if there is any distotion -- EVER
i havnt heard it

You may add a 'funken 1M into the comparism with the A-2.
on low volume the funken has better/warmer bass, but the A-2 simply knocks out everything when raising the volume.
big hifi-woofers, wooden cabinet and a strong amp in the head-unit.
since mine is in storage at a freinds place, i only can show some old pics left on my HD:
the speaker-cabinets are build very well..the bass can't go out anywhere except to the front.
You wont be dissappointed Asdexander!!

i have to get one of those.
95 watts and i am not thinking 95 "sharp" watts either.hehehehe
no boombox is to heavy for me to carry.
well pretty much real world, not land of the giants world stuff counts.
i would love to have a couple of those pans to use for stage props . they are really nice.
I think I would rather listen to my Sansui.
She can carry it with one hand and have a good time.
UE -- that model does look quite light and nifty --
like a member could carry it by his member.

Well; earlier this year ( 2 Ebay stuff 1 Won on Ebay since 18 April 0617 April 08 PANASONIC RX-6400 UNTESTED 330227082967 ) I paid less than 65 with shipping because it didnt have the speakers ... I guess that's a good thing cause I can add whatever speakers I like to this to sound even better
When I got caught up in the hype of these, I was able to purchase one of these WITHOUT the speakers that makes this a complete set.
The one that I have
Presently I added some speaker's to it and made this little 65 second video of it.
It work's very well as a portable Sound Studio and has plenty of Musical power running on batteries ... Now If I could just find the original speakers for this one ....
100_3253 full front business
100_3256 front business
100_3255 rear business

I absolutely love these!!!!
I totally want this version too!
Seems to me James in B.C. had one of this exact version...
Also, Peppin in Hong Kong was trying to sell one a few times earlier this year of the 'other' version... the one with like six speakers, or eight speakers???
Did I mention I love these?
