first and foremost panfan i am sorry my last post here was not cool and what i read i took totally out of context.i should not have reacted so badly and i do appologise for my bad actions at the time.
secondly i am not dead . more importantly and more on topic i am still collecting boomboxes.
i have also stepped up to other vintage stereo stuff as well.
i have really been through a very bad time since i last posted but not everything has been terrible.
i have been under so much pressure since my mothers suicide and loosing my job as well as having my music projects fly appart at the seams.
once again i do hope panfan you will accept my apologies and take me at face value it was totally out of character for me to react so badly to your post. right after i posted that i lost my internet connection and had to make other financial cuts as well.
anyways here is my latest box
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q84BPvOBZHMnot super bassy but man is it nice.
pretty much like brand new even the speaker grills. i had not been able to log in with my old id until today.
i hope some of you will enjoy seeing my new old sk95. it really is in amazing shape.
hope all of you are well

Bill we all have our share of bad moments and we've all said things we regret. Looks like you've had more than your share of bad lately, sorry to hear but I hope things are looking up for you. The difference between good people and the rest is good people are strong and decent enough to step up and appologize, I give you a lot of credit for that.
Congrats on the new box, that's a great Pioneer and it looks fantastic.
bill - you were one of my first friends on this site --very glad to see you are back here.
i would have been back to apologise way sooner but i had to chop the internet connection. the cable and a bunch of other things. my former bandmate left me with tens of thousands of dollars of bill related to the band wich he just totally bailed on. i would sue his ass but its just best to let it go.
i do hope that pan fan will accept my apology.
under normal situations i would have never lashed out at anyone like that.
it was way to much crap all at once.
so yeah the sk-95 is pretty much flawless. looks like it was taken from the box and put into the closet by someone. even the grils still have the silly sparkles on them. sure works awesome too.
other additions have been.
two sony fh215rs i got for ten bucks together. they have cold solder issues but both still work . i even got the remotes for them. some may not think of them as being a boombox, but sony did make a battery pack for them wich could be recharged,so i am calling them boomboxes
i have to say that those sonys really are intensely loud. they crush the kaboom i have into dust.
the panasonic egg i got the dt 707 is really awesome too in its own way. not super bassy but really nice sounding.
sadly here around town many of the thrift stores and now selling off all thier electronics bulk pay per pound to be recycled.
its a really sad deal.

Dude! It's so good to see that avatar back in action! I'm sorry to hear about the bad stuff that life threw at you. I'm sure we've all had a taste of the ultimate low at one time, but the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing if you know what I mean.
Glad to have you back with us, Bill.

Glad to have you back with us, Bill.
to quote the late great tony wilson
"the good times come and go , but so do the bad times as well"
this quote is was apparently given to him by a bum on the street right before he sold factory records for ten million pounds
Nice to have an oldtimer back....
Glad things are looking up.
Welcome back Bill, evrerything is going to be fine you'll see my friend
.
Hello Bill
welcome beck
thanks guys.
Welcome back amigo. We missed you. I'm very sorry for your loss too. Glad you're still with us. It's evident you were missed here isn't it?
yes it sure is.
stuff was bad for a long time. i mean my moms death was the worst of it all. suicide but that was also coupled with years of her mental illness she fought. the other stuff was just icing on a bike festering dog crap cake. not very nice description but its the only way i can describe it.
the good i didnt become a drunk or a drug addict. i managed to get through it all.
it was hard but no good story comes without a certain degree of hardship
Welcome billpc55,
and stay well

nice national mono in your avatar. i am going to go out and find some cool monobox today. i can feel it in my bones.
Great to have you back bill. I missed your insightfull posts. Life can really blow sometimes but this site is like an oasis so stop by often.
they say when life hands you lemons you should make lemonade.
better yet that wich does not kill you makes you stronger.
its all bs at a certain point tho.
i mean critical mass gets reached and then things just implode.
it was hardcore times no doubt about it,but i am doing way better now.

weelcome back Bill!
thanks again. well i didnt keep good on my promise. in fact todays jaunt was less than fruitful. the two gorgeous walkmans i bought didnt work. one was a wicked metal sony looked just beautiful. the other was a really lovely little sanyo with a built in speaker that recorded in stereo. just featured to the hilt.
both of them had the same problem. tape deck not working but radio working output on one side only.
sad really.not much down the tubes. to top it off the trusting fool i am believed the guy at the thrift store when i asked him if the integrated amp i was checking out worked. damn it didnt either. so a total of thirty bucks up in smoke today. too bad nice amp it is jvc ax-44 with 110 wpc.
well this week did see a beautiful boombox come into my life wich was the pioneer.
Welcome back!!
I too lost my mom this year as well as my girlfriend, my job and getting run over and having to pay money for the priviledge.
But you know what, I got a new job, with better money, better boss, I still have my true friends and even the girl situation is looking up. But yeah, it was a long one, 8 months of bas stuff.
No advice here, I guess just saying that the bad stuff happens out of nowhere, and can last a long time. I do feel much stronger now than before and hope you do too.
So, all the best for the future and just glad to hear you're doing good again.
once again in the imortal words of tony wilson.
the good times come and go,but so do the bad times.
its good to be back.
