This rare maximal arrived today;
ONE layer of bubblewrap and than cardboard box
Anaway, it looked great and it did not rattle...could it possibly have survived?
It realy looked MINT but....
Both corners has pieces missing and cracks and the back-case is loose.
This could have been a fully working, near mint boombox if the seller had taken my advises about packeting seriously...
Ahh thats a real shame GusG!
I was in love with the Emerson version of that at one stage. At least it's very fixable with some epoxy polymer. She's still a GREAT looking radio.
I find theres nothing more of a let down than getting a radio off ebay in the post and opening her up and realising theres no cleaning/restoring to do.
So good luck restoring her!
Rock On.
you could tell by the way it was packed, and the areas it was hit, he did'nt pay careful attention to those areas...still nice box...sorry to see that happened...im sure with some restoring those areas wont too noticeable...

It's terrible what is happen with this beauty.
Did you proposal a few more euros/dollars (after you make a deal) for the seller to make a good defensive packaging?
Maybe we should do that kind of offering.
Nevertheless, I know that everything depends of the seller.
Its deffinetly still a beautiful box. And at least the damage is in a more unoticable spot
but i would still be angry
Ouch, this is bad.
It´s so senceless when boxes get destructed by shipping.
But see it so, it could be more worse..
I hope you can repair the damages.
Thanks for all the good luck wishes with repairing this beauty!
devol-toni: I did not pay extra for the packeting, but mabye I should have done that. I sent some pictures to him as an example of good packeting, but obviously it did not help.
WHY DON'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND PROPER PACKING TECHNIQUES!!!!
Sorry venting...
Every package I've ever received has had some corner damage. YOU CAN'T PLACE THE ITEM AGAINST THE BOX WALLS!!
I've really lost my patience with sellers that do this. If you bought it on Ebay, leave negative feedback. No exceptions until sellers learn...
Now where is my Prozac...

It's called sellers making extra profit by packing poorly. (i.e. Not paying for the extra material and skimming shipping cost by decreasing size and weight.)

Well not quite destroyed .
Very fixable in-fact , but I share your aggravation about how poorly people pack stuff.
The back is probably loose due to a couple of broken screw posts on the inside.
Did you find the broken pieces???
That can be fixed to look near perfect
dont sweat it.
Congrats on a really kool looking and unique Boom Blaster.
If those cracked off pieces are in the box they came in, then you can definitely blame the packer. However, if you can't find the pieces, then it's a strong possibility that the box was already damaged before he even packed it - maybe for years.
Regardless, his packing job sucks major ass!
It is a very nice box anyway
I agree! Its an incredible looking box!
Shame about the damage...

I agree.... look for the parts. If you can find every little bit you can make that box look like new if you are careful. If there are no bits.... it was broken before it was sent. Either way it comes down on the seller.... that packing job sucked. Even though it looks like he "tried" he obviously is clueless....
oh, and you should not have to pay "extra" for packing.... unless you want something triple boxed or something. I don't think the seller should be able to just wash his hands of it, say shipping damage and make you claim insurance.
I agree...sellers sometimes do not realise the importance we give to boxes though....
