i have a bunch of AKA stuff --
so the brands are weird -- but the actual boxes are sort of common and un-weird

SANKYO (mono deck)
Like this?
Don't know if it's the same company, but the Sankyo name can also be found on 8mm movie cameras and projectors, music boxes, flip-type alarm clocks, pach1nko machines, and very expensive (good!) flutes.

Super Nice Dual Cass, with Alot of Chrome. tHe Box is in Nr Mint Shape,I do not think it was played with much.
3 Band Tuner,AM,Fm,and Sw 3-12 mhz
Playback Deck works Great Record Deck N/G...
Had Never Heard of AIKO
I understand They are a Japanese Comp,Been Making Electronics From The 60's on,but I guess Not Much in the way of BBx's with that Brand Name made it To N America.
Still a nice score for 10 Bucks.

AIKO:
Origin of Aiwa
Aiwa Co., Ltd. was founded as Aiko Denki Sangyo Co., Ltd. in 1951 to manufacture electronic and communications equipment. The company changed its name to Aiwa Co., Ltd. in 1959 and is known throughout the world for high-quality, reasonably priced audio/visual products. Sony Corporation invested in the company and became its major shareholder in 1969. Audio equipment including headphone stereos, radios, cassette-tape recorders and players, CD players, mini-disc players, receivers, amplifiers, speakers and accessories accounted for 83% of fiscal 2000 revenues; visual equipment including video tape recorders, television sets, laser disc players and related accessories, 15% and data communications equipment including personal computers, modems, data recorders, mobile phones and other, 2%.

So we see that after this transition period no more aiwa boxes appeared under other labels.
The Sony model above ,which is equivalent to the atpr 9500 is the only sony I ever saw with another label. We discussed this strange Sony alredy several times on the board, neverthelees thanks again to Mr.Hiroshi Mano to clear up the origin of this box.
Another interesting fact, that AIKO labeled boxes appeared AFTER the company was renamed AIWA!
Nontheless already AIWA boxes were sold...
What a struggle.

Honest! Great CGR-8560
(Same box as the GPX 990R. There's also a General Sound version, but with LED's instead of VU meters.)
Wow ! That looks just like me Prosonic !
Back in the late-1980s to mid-1990s, I had a rather large Aimor.
I no longer remember what model number it was, but it was quite large and had very nice sound from what I believe were 7.0" woofers and 1.5" or 2.0" tweeters.
